LSW secured #1 rank (a.k.a MVP) before Round 18. However, it was not clear who would be men's MVP until all matches of Round 18 were over. Interestingly, FZD and ML got the exact same ranking points. At the beginning, CTTSL website showed FZD was #1 and ML #2. There were debates on social media and Chinese TT forums that how should MVP be determined when tied. Some thought both should be #1 based on the ranking points (a system similar to old ITTF world ranking rating points); some argued ML should be #1 because he has higher winning ratio (24 out of 29) than FZD (23 out of 29); some argued that FZD should be #1 because he beat ML. Later, CTTSL website changed to FZD #1, ML #1 and changed again to ML #1, FZD #1. Table Tennis Magazine (official magazine of CTTA) said both ML and FZD are MVPs this season and will be awarded 100,000 RMB prize money each (not shared).

Even an injured (and new dad) Ma Long can still kick everybody's ass. One word for the man - RESPECT !!!

Indeed. I've watched every match so far and can say with confidence that Ma Long hasn't played on more than 80% of his potential (he's looked quite mortal in several matches), meaning when he gets back in his full stride again nothing will stop him.

To see how Tomokazu Harimoto would fare in the Super League, watch Liang JingKun. Tomo is a little faster but JingKun is a little stronger, their tactics are very similar. Would love to see them play one day. Any one notice that JingKun is number 4 in the Super League, and number 80 in the ITTF?

Very happy for LSW. She seems to be in good shape. I'll be even happier if she wins in Budapest next year, even though it is somewhat of a long shot, unfortunately...
It is also quite shocking to see XX as well as Sun Yingsha and Chen Xingtong with that many losses.

Actually LJK and TH have already had a match in 2017 Japan Open. The result was that LJK 4-1 TH. But since TH is becoming stronger and stronger, and LJK seems very unstable in international events, it is hard to predict who will win when they rematch.

That has been said for Ma Long previously. And now?

That's apples to oranges. Ma Long was first team on CNT when people said he struggled internationally. It was an extremely subtle statement. Who knows, maybe he would still be struggling if we were still using the celluloid ball...:p

LJK has all the right tools technically if you ask me. He only lacks the mental toughness. If he develops that aspect of his game there's no telling how far he can go. He always seem to give ML a difficult time when they meet.

That's right, dude. I just want to say that never say never :p
He is still young and and able to improve his mental toughness as well as his technique.

He doesn't have variation and he is not as fast as Fan Zhendong so his forehand is worse. He is right now in many ways just a lower level Fan Zhendong. I think he needs to lose weight like Fan has.

What do you mean by fast, look at how early he takes the ball both with BH and FH. Of course he could improve his footwork, but that kind of things we can say about each player. Last year he beat all players in china and thanks to him his team went to final. So I wouldn't say he needs much improvement in technique or footwork. Mainly it is mental and maybe also strategy. Look how often he leads with great players and then somehow he cannot finish the match.

Nothing you said addressed the point I made. And since I said he lacks variation, that is the same thing as your saying it is mental and strategy. Fan Zhendong can make up for his relative lack of variation with his ability to move and be extremely consistent. If you think LJK is as fast as Fan, let me know. It is hard to move faster without dropping some weight. Just a fact of sports.
