First Stage: 2 to 3 July 2019 | Main Event: 4 to 7 July 2019

- ML and FZD in the same half again (not same quarter!)
- Can Falck regain the promise shown during the WTTC two months ago?
- Unfortunate for the host nation but Jeong & Jang will likely meet during the round of 16
- Repeat of YOG? Chances are rising superstars Lin and Harimoto will face off during the QF

- Following a series of defeats to Japanese rivals recently, DN's luck seems to have turned
- Meanwhile, a repeat of the Japan Open finals seems set as LSW and SYS will likely meet again during the round of 16
- Revenge for Ito? She is allotted into the same quarter as WMY whom she had lost to during HK Open
- Hirano is showing signs of improvement but will that be enough to take down CNT's new trump card CM?
- Everything's possible nowadays with ZYL so all eyes are on Doo to pull another 'upset'

- KokiKazu/NiwaMoto make their first appearance on the international stage but will their journey end earlier than expected with experienced duo Jeong/Lee in the same quarter as them?
- Potential Swedish doubles for the Olympics? After Falck and Persson, Karlsson now pairs Kallberg
- XX/FZD looks like the favourites here but another seasoned partnership Ho/Wong awaits them

- The resurgence of CNT's 'golden pairing' DN/LSW and possibly one of the favourites to win but have they grown rusty following a period of inactivity
- With WMY/CM in the same half as the above, at least one WD's medal will not go to China
- Korea breaks up longstanding partners Jeon/Yang and gives them a junior each to lead but the degree of success remains to be seen

- Possibly one of the best XD line-ups as the world's strongest XD pairs have all gathered here (save for maybe Franziska/Solja)

It is very likely that the semi-final in the women's singles will be purely Chinese ...
Personally, I wonder how far Ojio Haruna and Odo Satsuki can go ....

Awesome.

What did happen to Kim Minseok? He was supposed to be the next big thing at one time but he just didn't materialize and disappeared in the middle of this decade...

I've wondered the same thing. He used to be one of my favorite Korean players. Had one of the best backhand flicks and a great backhand in general, his greatest strength. But I feel he didn't have great footwork, lacked some power, and not mentally tough. Would love to see him make a comeback.

It's been a tough year for Shi Xunyao. The 2016 WJTTC WS Champion missed the chance to move up to the A-team and now this.
