Help for choosing the equipment

Hello there fellow lovers of the sport!
I'm seeking for help....
Currently I'm using andro gauzy bl7 off- all wood blade which is amazing, and on both sides reactor tornado v5 40+, I like the rubbers, but are quite difficult to get in my country, so I'm looking for other options. I'm looking for little faster rubbers but with good control, my playstyle is I would say all-around offensive player who likes control. I was looking at couple of rubbers, like rakza 7, xiom vega europe df and standard xve, and I wouldn't change them so quickly so I'm looking for durability to be good too.
Hopefully you can help me, thanks in advance.

Hi

Am I right in thinking that Reactor Tornado V5 is a Tacky Chinese factory boosted rubber??

if you like the tackiness then you could try another rubber with hybrid characteristics, such as Rakza Z, Golden Tango, Victas Triple Extra or Triple Double Extra etc, downside is these are double the price!! Loki Arthur Asia has some tackiness that wears off to ‘beardy’ tacky, but is slightly cheaper, although again it can be difficult to get hold of!!

if you’re not worried about using a tacky(ish) rubber, then Rakza 7, Xiom Vega Europe DF, barracuda etc are good options.

First tip : try out other peoples rackets. most rubbers are very similar where the biggest differrences are hardness (mainly sponge but even topsheets at times such as Tenergy 05 & 64). And then if you want a chinese rubber or Euopean rubber.
So my question to you is, have you tried soft rubbers <42 degrees and if so, do you prefer it over hard rubbers,47 degrees and up.
DNA pro S - M - H are very good rubbers and affordable, around 40€.
Tibhar evolution series are good and really popular, mainly FX-P - EL-P - MX-P
If you want chinese rubbers, u can't go wrong with a boosted Hurricane 3.

Sorry for late reply,
yes, tornado V5 is a tacky chinese factory booster rubber.
Other members of this forum recommend me Rakza Z, and I can see that you are using them, so what's your experience?
I read that they are quite heavy.
And how they react to the incoming spin, i think they shouldn't react as much because they are tacky but somewhere I saw that they are quite sensitive to incoming spin.
Overall I'm interested in your experience of these rubbers.
Thank you very much.

Hello.
No, I have never used soft sponged rubbers.
I have used harder rubbers, it was Joola Samba 27.
It was really bouncy and really sensitive to incoming spin.
When I changed to tornado V5, it was like I discovered whole new world. I really like that rubber and i wouldn't change it, but as I said it's difficult to get it in my country..

Personally I like Rakza z, the main down fall for some is that it has a high / very high throw angle, this is generally the opposite of a rubber like H3.
spin levels are high, control is fine, sensitivity to spin is, as far as I’m concerned not really much different to many tacky rubbers. It has good catapult but when on an all wood blade is reduced, put it on a blade like a Viscaria and it becomes fast and a little bouncier.
plays well away from the table, can be used on both BH and FH.

There’s another thread ‘Hybrid rubbers how close to Tacky Chinese or grippy ESN spring sponge’
worth reading, gives a basic idea of where some rubbers ‘sit’ take with a pinch of salt, a guide !!
Also read some of Yogi’s reviews - Tau 2, Xiom Omega 7 China Guang, etc
Tau 2 may also be to your liking.

Cheers Yogi,

As the Reactor V5 is Tacky boosted rubber then a ‘Hybrid characteristic’ rubber could be right up DontWorry’s street!!
Sites / shops to visit on line - TT11, they have a good selection of all types of rubbers, I think they are based in Estonia, I’ve found them to provide a great service.
Also check DHS-729, these guys are specialists in DHS and Friendship 729 equipment!! Very friendly and knowledgeable, great service as well.
Xiom Tau 2 play’s like a boosted Tacky rubber, but is only available from Asia at the moment. Xiom Omega 7 China guang and Ying is another good rubber but faster, bouncier than Tau 2, again only available generally in Asia, but I’m sure TT11 are stocking this rubber in the slightly softer guang version at the moment, They may even be able to pull a few strings and get some Tau 2!! I order Tau 2 from Aliexpress, and wait !!
729 Battle 2 could also be a good choice for you, get the provincial versions, usually available at DHS-729, Also meant to be a Battle 3 version out sometime this year, a few players are really looking forward to its release!!
