Is Jiaqi Meng using h3 on her forehand or some other tacky rubber? Because there's that cracking sound upon hitting that's akin to the hurricane rubbers.

Jiaqi Meng is using h3 on her forehand. She was a nightmare to play against in round 1. It was very difficult to create a strong attack against her.

You play well overall so it's more of a suggestion and not a criticism per se but why can't you try to play with h3 as well if you lose using the usual same-old-tired and frankly boring springy Tenergy setup? Then might as well try and play with h3 anyway if you lose with the usual Tenergy setup. At least if you lose using h3 at least you get something out of it, a better feedback and a satisfaction that at least you've tried rather then using the usual same old tenergy because worrying that h3 will not give you enough catapult effect as Tenergy does.

Try to take the leaf out of Jiaqi Meng's book and rely more on using a better technique like Jiaqi Meng does rather than the very "artificial" feeling that the usual tensor setup gives you of borrowing power from the tensor technology, whereas the proper use of h3, may be difficult to get used to at first, but in the long run it provides a better raw power when used properly.

Funnily enough since this match I have tried h3 again and have been considering switching. My main concern is I don't practice enough to maintain the technique needed to use h3 most effectively. Thanks for the suggestion! 👍

I think that playing with h3 especially in an environment like this where players are mostly used to springy rubbers can be beneficial even if someone is not very accustomed to the use of h3 because has been playing with tensor rubbers for most of their careers.

It's why many players get the feeling of h3 that for the opponent it often feels as if they're playing against an anti-spin rubber, this mostly happens when a good contact is struck with the ball and a sufficient friction is achieved, that's when you hear that distinct of h3 cracking sound that could be heard when Jiaqi Meng hit the ball hard in some of the points.

So it would be really cool to actually see someone switch to h3 in a competition like this and give it a best try, because then watching the player in a match imo is a lot more interesting trying to adapt to it rather than sticking to the same-old "safe" setup that makes the player lose the match anyway.
