Yeah but their names tell a different story. It's not like Japan where you change your name when you become Japanese.

Yeah, and narratives carry force, and I despise the narrative of birth nationality as a characteristic defining humans. I actually believe the nation state is a fairly recent artficial construct. With arbitrary borders defined in a haphazard fashion. Nations do not define people, and my mind always rebels when I see a subtext of what to me reeks of the narrative of nationality. And fail to bite my tongue, making a no doubt sometimes unwarranted remark every now and then...

That is fine. I am always a fan of reality. As long as you don't ignore facts, please tell any story you want.

We just might disagree there. Reality is made by the narrative, and some narratives are inherently harmful, dehumanizing, divisive, hateful. The narrative of nationality is the narrative of us versus them. Of humans, our own, versus subhumans, the enemy. I think you see how this works, at least how my mind perceives this. Our own thought, attitude, sensibillities, affinities are shaped from these narratives. I choose to embrace another one, and the reality that ensues is a different one.

Here's silly lil'ol'me, secretly hoping for one last majestic Boll-Samsonov final at the pointy end of the gender spectrum. And even more secretly rooting for Uncle Vova.

Well, the draw did not allow for that. But we will get this match today, even if it's not the final. I'm stoked.

Well, it's all interisting what you write here..
But I'm more interested in what ball are they using..
Cause it seemed to me that it was not the d40+.

Says DHS 40+ in the prospectus for the preparation camp. The reason behind all the upsets if that's really what they're using?

Tibhar SYNTT NG *** 40+

The more relevant question here is where did a given player learn to play. If it was within CNT or a lower level Chinese TT system, I think it's somewhat fair to bring it up. If they simply immigrated at young age and learned to play in Europe, then all credit to European TT school.

Nah, noticing facts makes you guilty of dehumanizing hate. Just pretend it is all European TT so we can all live happily ever after.

Wow. You’re entirely free to your own storyline, but at some point us humans tend to consider that narrative we embraced to be reality. I think I see a suggestion of an unwavering reality in these lines, but hey, that’s the narrative of nation-bases exclusiveness framing that perception.

Me, I don’t even think the notion of EU TT makes sense. All the world’s a stage, and all men and women merely players.

I’ll shut up now. That SYN-TT 40+ threestar should be decent enough if it’s the NG version, right?

And off I go, rooting for Solja. Because of her play. Nothing else matters.
