Yes I am happy we are going to see Boll Mattenet!

Very strong on both sides, that will be awesome!
If Samsonov will play good, I dont think that Baum can do much about it and he will lose..
So it will not be all german

Also Boll I think can very easily lose to Mattenet, that match is unpredictable!

Bastian Steger versus Aleksandar Karakasevic
Patrick Baum versus Vladimir Samsonov

What are your predictions for the next round?

Im guessing Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Bastian Steger and Vladimir Samsonov will go through to the semi finals!

Could it be an all German Semi Final??

Bojan Tokic defeats Dimitrij Ovtcharov by 4 games to 3!! What a win, his celebration is amazing! So much passion! For me match of the tournament!

Steger lost to Karakasevic .. that was another surprise!
And then.. poor Samsonov.. to play in the night.. (once again: STUPID POLAND !!!) ..
He probably wanted more to go to bed than win that match..
So it will be Boll vs. Tokič and Karakasevič vs. Baum..

Hey Dan, just for fun, it looks like all one would have to do is bet against your predictions.

I know I did not know who would win these matches. I was hoping Samsonov would show some of his old form but was skeptical. I thought Steger and Ovtcharov would win as well.

It looks like these will be good matches. I think it will be Boll and Baum but I am hoping it will be Tokic and Karakasevic.

So I will not make any predictions.

You gotta love this guy!
His touch is unique

His is an anti-athlete (doesn't train,smokes,loves beer and coca cola), but offsets it with his cleverness and feeling for the ball

Just saw German Open 2011: Aleksandar Karakasevic - Kohei Morimoto..excellent game, even better point at 5:30. The guy plays effortlessly...he doesn't bend his knees as much, doesn't run around to his BH (probably coz he has super BH), and wonderful touches and feel of the ball.

So true! I think he is an absulute genius! Very impressive and to be honest i'd never heard of him until this tournament

So Timo Boll proved hes the best once again in incredible form! He peaks so well for important tournaments!
