That’s some well aged patina right there. Not all handles age/look the same unfortunately lol. Another selling point for OSP.

Sweat can be a good wood stain and your hand on your racket can be excellent for finishing the surface. Even better than fine sandpaper. :) Some of the dings on the handle don't show up so well in the photos. But, to my mind, they add to the aesthetic affect. :)

If I showed the edges of the blade, there are places where it looks like someone was chewing on it. :) Hard knocks earned at the table. :)

Works too well IMO! My Q-series Viscaria is not playable without grip tape now because the handle is just way too smooth now.

a before and after for using 2 coats of BLO and a coat Beeswax+VCO. (sanding with 400grit in between BLO coats)

I didn't expect it to darken that much but it did, i like the slight sheen it has, and feels much better in the hand vs raw.

SILICA BASED COATINGS.

Yes, some sealers tend to form a non flexible film when drying out, thus damping tactile response upon ball impact . Not good for players with keen fingers.

Keep hands away from sealers incorporating any volatile solvents as acetone or the such. Betake to Silica Spray instead.

it does affect performance but you need to be at a certain level to feel it. Maybe around 2100 with classically trained forehand. The bigger issue with sealing blade is the rubber come off a lot easier thus making you reglue your rubber every so often.
Only god can feel the difference.
Btw- did you feel your Golden Vis has been sealed by butterfly as they seal all their blades?

I've noticed the top-end Butterfly blades are sealed much lighter than they were a year ago. They're clearly still sealed (you can easily tell when you apply the glue), but only very lightly. I don't know if this is intentional by Butterfly, or perhaps they're using a different product or different company to do the sealing.
Has anyone else noticed this?
