Ma Long couldnt hit his usual backhand blocks and counters to Franzs Flips and backhand loops, which led to him being clueless and lost.
He tried everything that he could think of, but it didnt work.

I am excited for the Franz - Dima Matchup.
Play doubles together and then singles against each other.
Franziska is the kind of player who should be a nightmare for the Chinese - built like a tank, power on both sides, moves fairly well, has great ability to keep the ball short and tight, good backhand openers so he isn't stuck pushing all the time... everything is right on *paper* except the intangibles.

But those intangibles are massive - he just finds a way to not beat players he should beat... it is confounding.

Petition to have Boll play MT at Paris 2024. And QD as reserve player.

Franzs playstyle and game can be pretty predictable for a player like Ma Long.
Ma Long knew what Franz was gonna play, but he was not very focused / not in form and he couldnt hit his usual shots.
He couldnt get any big advantages from service / receive, which he usually does.
He got Franz to loop to his backhand, but he missed so many blocks.
He predicted and anticipated well, but he was simply not on point today.

The CNT is very good anticipating their non-CNT opponents moves so that they can prepare and hit their high quality shots unlike most others.
But we will see...

It's been 9.5 years since!

Despite the fact that Boll and Ovtcharov are the top targets of the CNT, from XX s perspective, it was in the third match facing off Franziska whose game was the trickiest. "I ran into him in the Open earlier the year, winning 4:2. Very few people outside of China can take two games off of me." XX knew at that time that this player was not easy to handle, but never thought he would come across him in his own first final at the WTTTC. "This reminds me of last year playing against Samsonov in the World Cup final. For the first two receives, one hit on my fingers, and for the other I whiffed the loop. Those two shots didn t even touch the paddle. The match against Franziska at the WTTTC was more or less the same. I didn t serve the first one well and it drifted long. It turned out the dude on the other side was nervous as well and sent it flying. For the second serve I even sent it into the bottom of the net. I was so tense. My hand was not listening to me." In the final, both sides were nervous, and the key at that moment was to see who could first immerse in the match. "When under immense pressure, it felt like the upper body was constantly pushing down on the lower body, as if I couldn t run, and got heavy legs, and hand that didn t listen, and losing very promptly without even my realizing. Yet, this time midway through the first game, I was running the whole field and the body didn t feel that heavy. I was totally in the zone, both technically and tactically."

Gap is getting smaller... @zeio please give me now 2 exact dates when:
- will euro/japs reach super-chinese level
- will AI reach super-human intelligence
Many in China predict that date to come some time after Paris 2024 and during the LA 2028 cycle. China will have its Taikonaut on the moon by Brisbane 2032 and by that time Miwa's brother will ONLY be 29 and Miwa 24...

A really long shot, but singularity will probably not happen before the Doomsday Clock reaches midnight at the rate things are going.

Maybe this has been answered but can someone tell me the reason why the two Miyuus are being seperated and paired with the Koreans? Thanks a lot.

They were sent by the T-League teams, not by the Japanese national team.
