I'm going to try playing with short pips on my forehand. I did this many years ago but have for the last couple years played with normal rubbers.

Right now I'm playing with the carbonado 45. I think I'm pretty set on buying a 7 layer all wood blade. I like the wood feeling and I think that I need some more stiffness with the short pips. I'm thinking of either the Stiga Clipper or the Gauzy SL off.

Someone who can recommend either of them, or maybe something else?

Well yes, i can recommend something else: Why don't you glue a short pips rubber on the FH of your carbonado and see how that feels .
