alternatives to tenergy 05

I've been using the T05 for about 14 months.
But today it opened, a hole opened in it.

I'm looking for a replacement, I train for 3 hours 6 times a week.

I'm training for class 7 tournaments.

I've been looking at the following models
JOOLA Dynaryz ACC
XIOM c55 or Omega VIII PRO
rakza 7 soft

I play at close range, so I'm looking at some rubbers to see if I won't feel too much of a difference to the point of disrupting my training.

None of the rubbers you mentioned are particularly similar to Tenergy 05. Nittaku Fastarc G-1 is a good substitute imo, it's a bit slower and more controllable, and also cheaper. Alternatively, you could try Butterfly Rozena, which (according to their marketing) is a kind of baby version of Tenergy.

Go for the Omega 8, its newest

Turn $50 into $5000 by putting $50 of gas into the car and driving to work.

The question has been asked and answered 5 Billion times... there is not a rubber like T05 even to this day.

MANY rubbers can play totally fine and have other good trade-offs and can work well for many players...

I am one of those and use a rubber that is less than 1/2 the cost.

However, if you have been playing T05, have important business coming up, and want the same feel/performance, the only answer is to purchase another sheet of T05

You haven't said why you want to change so why are you changing?

It's hard to find similar rubbers so if you want the 'same' then just keep T05.

Otherwise, if looking for something different your options are endless, unless you can specify what you actually want?
Alternative fast(ISH) rubbers,
Maybe Nittaku Hammond Z2 but you're not saving money with that.
Tibhar MX-P?
Donic Blue fire M2?

If you want something more durable and are willing to sacrifice a bit of speed then Nittaku Fastarc G-1 is your best bet, although 14 mths from a T05 is pretty good!

After that I'd say Rakza 7 if you just want a fun spinny rubber and can get it for a good price but when all's said and done there's only one Tenergy 05.

Btw, what is class 7? Is that a league tier in Brazil?
I've only seen classes assigned in the Paralympic, (1-5) , (6-10) etc....

putting aside empirical and opinion aside; let us consider the science of this product. T05 is spring-sponge and as I understand it, it is made up of tiny pocket of air inside the sponge to create the spring / trampoline effect. The pimple geometry is probably long and thin ( my guess ).

So, an alternative to it should also be a product that has the same physical attribute. By knowing such info, one can seek the alternative NOT based on speculation.

To me, the Andro's Rasanter E.C. series, most likely R48 seems the closest to it.

Good luck.

you are correct. the sponge used on t05 has tiny gas(it's co2 and n2 mostly, not air) pockets inside it, just like every other rubber foam used for any other sponge used on any other tt rubber sheet from any other manufacturer.

also OP, changing equipment is a time tested way to hamper your training progress.

I'm sorry, but not one of the alternatives mentioned here comes anywhere close. Even G-1, which is a brilliant rubber and might even be very playable in the same style, is just not the same. G-1 has a significantly firmer topsheet, and is much less bouncy/springy on minimal speed contact.

There's one guy from my previous club who plays basically nothing but topspin loops, and where in the past he went from speedglue to Tenergy, nowadays he uses Gewo Nexxus EL Pro in 38 (yes, that soft).
I've actually played with his bat and I can see the similarities. It's closer to T05fx than T05 due to the extreme softness, but still. Here's the similarities:
- The topsheet really hugs the ball like you're slinging a whip around an object
- The ball then releases with a *schlickk* sound (which is the main satisfying awesome feature of T05 for me)
- The sponge is soft enough for a big ball hug, yet elastic enough for power and speed

Obviously, it's still not the same thing. I think Tenergy has the better power reserves, better balance between topsheet deformation and stability, but this rubber comes close to my *personal* experiences with T05(fx)

If I were to buy a T05 alternative today, gun-to-head, I'd get this one in 43.

That being said, I think it's silly to look for an alternative if you want the actual thing. You will always be disappointed.

T19 has the long thin pimples and T25 the short fat ones in the Tenergy range.
The T05 seem to be somewhere in the middle in the Tenergy family.
Although maybe T05 are long and thin when compared with lost other rubbers? I dunno....
Have you played the R48?
Does it actually play like T05? I've never tried it.

Yes but he didn't ask for a rubber the same as T05 he asked for alternatives.

G1 is still a good alternative though.
We don't know if the OP wants cheaper, slower, better durability or whatever but the G1 is longer lasting, cheaper and for most folk easier to play with.
It's such a good rubber in it's own right.

the problem is that i'm brazilian, one of the currencies that has been devaluing the most over time.
A new T05 is 25% of my salary.

@Sims exactly, I'm physically disabled, I'm training because this year I want to compete in tournaments for paratheletes

Hi there
From a cost effeciency standpoint I would recommend the Fastarc G-1 because of its longevity but that's still $50 so not cheap either. Its slower with a lower arc so it might not suit, only you can decide that.

Looking in paddle palace the best priced rubber seems to be Stiga Mantra at $40 but I don't know about its durability.

Thinking outside of the box, if you really need Tenergy 05 to be competitive then maybe try doing a TT blog about your journey and add a fund me. Just a few ppl donating a dollar here and there and you can have rubbers for the next season.

Otherwise ya got to do it the old fashioned way and tuck away a few bucks every week until ya got the dough 🤷‍♂️

I can't compare Donic M2 with Tenergy 05 (because I haven't tried Tenergy), but I can guarantee, that in order to successfully play with M2, playing at the same intensity as the author of the post, you will need at least every 2-3 months. I am happy with the M2, but I change it every 3 months (3x a week for 3 hours of training).
Unfortunately, Donic rubbers lose their properties +- after 3-6 months, depending on the intensity of the game.
By the way, as far as I've heard, Tibhar MX-P is exactly the same.
Playing with a rubber for 14 months... this is simply unrealistically cool. I don't understand, why would look for an alternative rubber, if a rubber for 60 Eur will serve 1+ years??????????
