Andro Canter FO OFF "dead zone" all around of the blade?

I just bought a new Andro Canter FO OFF blade and after trying it out noticed a strange „no bounce“ zone around the perimeter of the blade. If I drop a ball on the blade, it bounces normally only in the very center, while the zone around the edges (a really wide zone, like 2 fingers width) is totally dead, the ball just drops on it like on sand, with no bounce. Is that how it’s supposed to be? I’m quite a newbie and have owned only a few blades before, e.g. Stiga Infinity VPS and never noticed anything like this. Any info appreciated!

Two things possible;
rubber not stuck on all round the edge? This would give thatresult
or
the ‘sweet spot’ of the racket is very small
without more feedback from you hard to decide which

Thank you for the ideas, I'll try to glue an old rubber to check it. Actually, Andro was advertising the blade as having an extremely large sweet spot
