Any blades still in production similar to Xiom Hugo HAL or Butterfly Moonbeam?

timo boll ZLF is pretty similar but with less support beyond the table and a bit different feel. hugo hal feels more complete and supports a more powerful game. zlf will sadly be discontinued too, so same same

i liked the new butterfly outerforce ALC because it had similar speed but a lower throw and sadly way less feeling but is also soft and easy to handle. hugo HAL feels better with harder rubber, the outerforce ALC better with softer ones. but nothing can beat the feeling of HAL in my opinion so i still hope they will find a way to produce it again!

Also, You need to stock on seamless balls too :sneaky:, the World cup used them which is is unusual (normally DHS, DF)
sorry but this is just BS, there are so many different balls available and if you play competitive then you always need to adapt to stuff like this. same with tables and light, floor and whatsoever. professionals are used to this and if you want to suggest that hugo only won because of that then i don't think we play the same game... winning against WR 3, 2 and 1 in the opponents favoring field and crowd is mentally and physically masterclass

i agree too, i never claimed that was the reason for Hugo success. I'm just helping OP recreate the conditions he's looking for

yeah Hugo SAL, not HAL.
Hugo SAL was the first blade xiom produced then they come up with HAL.
they should be different. Strange that we could still find SAL but not HAL

If you want the blade to come back, send Xiom a mail. who knows they might bring it back to make some cash

btw, before the discontinuation of HAL, a major a shop in Germany told me that HAL was their best selling Xiom blade by far.
what a blunder and missed opportunity by Xiom
Making a parallel to the industry I work in, sometimes the manufacturer sells equipment (blade in this case) at cost or sometimes below cost to sell more consumables (in this case rubbers) until the burden is too much, then the manufacturer do some cosmetic modifications, increase the price of the equipment and the cycle continues... Maybe thats why Xiom stopped making HAL... or maybe not...😅

Cheers!

Idk.. but Fyi Hugo most likely does not play with the Xiom Hal anymore I think he plays with inner carbon style blade ( most likely the Xiom Hugo tmxi pro according to tabletennis11) I think this is because he switched to hybrid rubbers on both sides

No he is. If he was playing with TMXi Pro, the handle would be different and viewers would see at ITTF WC. no reason for him to use a HAL handle with inner carbon if HAL not even being sold anymore

This is my issue with XIOM. They keep discontinuing their lines of blades. I can understand if the blades don't sell well.

But discontinuing HAL after Hugo's success? Why?
