Backhand Rubber: Xiom Omega V Euro, VII Euro or Vega Korea

Hello guys!

I use the Xiom Omega V Euro on my backhand for about 1 year. I'm a developing player with a better backhand than a forehand. My current equipament is: Butterfly Innerforce ALC.S + Xiom Vega Pro H (FH) + Xiom Omega V Euro (BH).

I am considering a possible rubber change for my backhand. The one thing I don't like about the Xiom Omega V Europe is that it is a bit heavy. My current racquet is 192g and I am looking to reduce its weight.

I am considering the Xiom Omega VII Euro or the Xiom Vega Korea to replace the V Euro. However, I don't want something that is faster than my V Euro. Could either of these rubbers replace my V Euro without being too fast and difficult to control?

Thanks!

vega korea is a really nice backhand rubber. it isn't too fast but has excellent grip on the topsheet. its quite light too with my black max being 45g cut to innerforce alc. its same hardness as o5e but in my opinion feels a little softer (both 45degrees) . i just wish they made it in red, i like to have black rubber on my fh and dont want to use a blue rubber.

i have only tried omega 7 euro for a couple of mins but was able to gather that it is really light and had quite a high arc. also worth mentioning that its a fair bit softer than o5 euro (45degrees vs 42.5).

Vega Euro is definitely slower than the Omega version.

Now I will tell you a secret about slower rubber. The ball that you return will be weaker and less momentum. Now you will think, what a pussy! Weak ball? It will be attacked easily.

Oh no! On the contrary, weak return ball means the opponent cannot borrow your power and many players will return the ball into the net instead.

This is what I found out! It is my secret and I am letting the whole world know without Paypal required.

i played with it some years ago and i think omega v euro is an amazing backhand rubber, that can keep up with the performance of harder rubbers despite beeing a bit softer. you will definitly not get this with vega korea! it will be a downgrade for shure. the only rubber i know of that can compete with omega v euro in that hardness is tibhar el-s, but it will be a different rubber because it has softer topsheet that is more biased to spin with high arc, and omega v euro is more towards power with a more direct play. if you want something lighter then the only chance is to ask for the lightest package.
in your case i would only change to something harder. i know you said you don't want something faster, but omega v euro is already one of the fastest rubber i know of in that category, so you can easily change to a tamer rubber with a harder sponge, so you can keep the performance of omega v euro and maybe have a lighter sponge.

i would choose Gewo Hype Korea Pro, Xiom Vega X or even omega 7 PRO instead of euro.
they all are lighter with a pretty direct play like omega v euro. Gewo has softer topsheet and flatter arc, xiom vega x has way more spin but has the same catapult, omega 7 pro has more catapult and is maybe a tad faster but less spin and super light.
i changed to vega x, coming from omega v euro.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I bought a Vega Korea to test, but I didn't like it. I found its catapult too direct and for my style of play, I ended up not being able to maintain the same spin on the ball with it.

What I ended up doing was putting in a Vega Pro (which weighs practically the same as the Omega V Europe). However, what I did to lose weight was to change the Vega Pro H that was on my forehand and I put in a Tibhar MK Hybrid. It was a 5 gram reduction in weight.

Regarding the Vega Pro backhand, I'm still adapting to the hardness, but for now I'm really enjoying it. My balls have more spin, but I need to be more active on my shots than I was with the Omega V Euro. It's a matter of practice.

Can you tell me about the vega pro H on FH?
