stop derailing the thread, haha
nice blade!
Thank you!

But yes.....

Back on point!

Please keep the suggestions coming.

I'd rather not focus on ability right now, because I think that detracts from the main purpose of what we are hoping to achieve.

So if you know of nice clubs (good facilities etc), in your area, please let me know and I'll take a look!

Budget dependant, but I reckon it'll be between 5 and 7 days.

Ideally (regardless of whether we are there 5 or 7 days) I think we'll try and arrange 3 evenings (or days) of Table Tennis at 3 different clubs across the country (whatever country that may be in).

We are very happy to drive across the country as well, so we have no problem is one club is 4 hours away (for example).

@backspacer might be able to help with Germany

what level do you think you are, if based on USATT?
We could host you @NDH, but not sure we could put up a fight lol

There was recently a friendly match between Regionalliga (newly promoted to 4th division) and Oberliga (5th division) teams from different regions nearby, but there are plenty of clubs here in the southwest that play in any of the lower leagues. Grünwettersbach where the Beast plays covers quite a few if you can maybe get in touch with him via Dan. Miikka from Pongfinity plays two hours up north from here if he hasn't changed clubs. I know people from clubs around here, but unfortunately not anyone personally that plays like Oberliga for instance.

I'll drop you a PM shortly!

Watched that friendly match - It's always hard to tell how you'd fair in a video like that, but I reckon the player who won would be too good, but the player who lost is perhaps at the top end of our level (he may be better, and it just doesn't show because he was playing someone very good!)

It wasn't their first match against each other and they have played much closer before, but Kestutis demolished Lukas surprisingly this time. Both have played 3. Bundesliga before too. This is Lukas' other match from that day against a material player. The channel owner has a lot of matches from different leagues if you type in Verbandsoberliga, Verbandsliga, Bezirksoberliga, Bezirksliga to get an idea of the playing level.

If you decide to visit Czech Republic, I'd be happy to host you in my area. The thing is, my area is in Morava, the eastern part of CR, and in there, in the east ;-)), cca 300km to the east from Prague, our capitol. In here I'd be able to prepare a friendly match in our club, and second one in another neighbouring club. With all "extras", e.g. our club is directly next to footbal place, and connected to a pub.

These I can guarantee right away, but I think, if you indeed decide to visit our place, there is also a chance we'd be able to arrange for a friendly match in some area/club on the way there (or on the way back). There is something like czech TTD here, called TT-forum, and people from the TT-forum meet at least 1x a year, I think this year it was cca 70 people, 12 tables. So, later on, we could ask in the TT-forum, if some of them would like to arrange a friendly match on the way to or back from "morava" ;-).

The level - yes indeed as others say, that's the question. The teams in here would be of players who play so called "divize", something like top 400 - top 800, out of cca 16 thousand, so you can get the percentile, and you can also compare to your percentile. Or lower, but I can't arrange for higher ;-))

CR is neighbouring to Germany, I used to travel from my place to Mannheim frequently, it's OK in 1 day, but you're not usable in that day anymore ;-)

Hey Latej,

Thank you!

I'll definitely short list the CR - It's a country I've always wanted to travel to, but haven't been as of yet!

We are looking to travel across whatever country we go to, so we could very easily have a couple of nights in Morava and then travel to different parts for other matches.

What are the venues like?

Are there any especially for TT, or are they all multi purpose?

That's good, there are indeed nice places here, e.g. this year's TT-forum meeting was in town called Polička, which has beautiful old-town centre, and the beer from Polička's brewery is absolutely excellent... Also here, I'm sure you'd enjoy it...

The clubs usually have dedicated venues, but not always, e.g. my prev. club trains and plays in the village's school sport hall. So in my club, the space is little less than average, there is 3 tables, but for matches we play only on 2; due to the smaller space it also feels a bit faster. But I regularly train in another 2 club's venues, which have kind of top-notch halls, there is 4 tables in one, with a lot of space and height, and 5 in another, a little less space but still a lot. In all those 3 clubs the tables remain standing, the lightning/visibility is good... I can send photos later... As I say, sometimes it can be multi-purpose too, but it's not the norm... I'd say we use the multi-purpose halls when the meeting is larger, just like this year's in Polička... In those sometimes the visibility can't be always that optimal, but nothing critical...

On tour to Taiwan?

the island is small enough to travel, can fit in site-seeing, table tennis (not against pros, so don't worry) and the best - food every day.

Taiwan's local cost is relatively cheap. airfare would cost a bit more, but maybe a chance your euro trip and taiwan trip might not be too different in budget.
own cons is traveling time + time zone diff by about 6 hours.

Travel time would be the issue here I think.

We'd probably want 10 days to 2 weeks if we did that.

However, we are talking about an Asian tour providing the Euro tour goes well!

Hello TTD famalam.....

Just coming back on this to see if anyone has connections at local clubs in Europe.

We are likely to be travelling in early September, so there is still quite a bit of time!

There will probably be 4 of us.

Does anyone have recommendations for local clubs we could set up friendly matches with?

Preferably Germany, France or Sweden, but open to options!

Thanks 😊

Hey NDH, my offer stands. I can arrange so many friendly matches, so that, as they say, you can't piss standing up...

Seriously, any level from Okres 2 till 3. League. (Okres 2, Okres 1, Kraj 2, Kraj 1, Divize, 3.Liga)... And of course celebration afterwards... In Kostelec (my club) there is pub directly inside, in Slusovice there is pub nearby, in Zlin - KST, there is also pub where we sometimes take bier from during training... In Sarovy - they play 3.league (better than me) I can arrang a match... In Otrokovice and other teams from divize I can arrange matches too... Cheers.
