Looks like not many are following this tournament.

Bernadette Szocs def top seed Hitomi Sato in quarters.. lost to eventual winner Georgina Pota in semis .

Men's finals about to start.. Both are surprise finalists.. Sathiyan from India and Cedric Nuytinck from Belgium. http://ittf.com/ittv/

Lol.. promoting your countryman with stealth... he played well.

:) You should watch his upset of Steffen Mengel in quarterfinals..

And what makes you think I didn't? I know your boy since he came to the US Open in 2014. He has improved his attacking a lot - he always had great blocking game.

And Steffen Mengel's kicking of the table at the end should be legendary - he actually moved the table with that kick.

:) not saying you didn't.. I said it in a different sense.. I meant "You'd have really enjoyed it" :) Since no vids came on TTD, I thought many aren't watching.. I have been following him from our provincial tournaments here. He has really come a long way.. This man gave up table tennis to spend 4 years doing his engineering! Yeah.. He lost to Thomas Keinath in 2014 QF. Earlier this year Sathiyan defeated Sharath Kamal Achanta in the semifinals of our Nationals.

LOL yeah.. Mengel was thunderous on the table! ;-)

How old is he? Amazing that he could quit and come back.

He's 23. He didn't quit totally. But reduced practising a lot.. By no means at the level of a pro.. By his own words:

“I was busy with engineering for the last four years, but now I’m a free bird. Although I continued practising even while I was studying, it was difficult to find time, but for three months now, I’ve been training very hard — both physically and mentally — to get in shape and renew my passion for this sport,” Sathiyan said.
