Hi,

I'm looking for advice regarding a blade choice.

My current setup is:
  • Blade: DONIC Appelgren allplay
  • FH: Rakza Z 2.0 black (will switch to rakza 7 2.0 soon)
  • BH: DMS Spinfire 1.8 blue
I like to attack a lot, i love the short pips game play (flat hit, block deception, fast long push) but also enjoy looping with FH or BH (on backspin only). Even if i consider myself as beginner, i'm improving fast. One of my strength is serve so any setup i choose must allow me to generate a lot of spin on serve (mostly using hook & pendulum serves).

The blade i have is fine for me but since i swiched from inverted to short pips on my BH i always wondered if i could get more of the "short pips effect" with another blade.

What I have in mind is a more hard and stiif blade to enhance the short pips effect or a balsa blade for the light weight. I have a tennis elbow injury so i would like to keep my setup as light as possible.

I am considering a Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive blade, reviews are quite good and price is OK. Regarding balsa blade which are also known as good with short pips i am just wondering if it won't affect too much looping & serve in a negative way (but i would definately enjoy the light weight due to my injury).

What do you think ? Any advice is more than welcome
