I have a couple sheets of 388D-2. What is the main difference between 388D-1 and 388D-2?
Revspin has some pretty good comparisons. I have used D-2 in 0.5, but never tried D-1. I recall I once used a friend's paddle who had D-1 on it, and the pimples were super soft so it made attack hard. D-2 has much firmer pimples, and based on photos they look more sparse as well. I'd add that
I have seen Zhou using D-2, and Guo Jiangshan was a longtime D-1 user, but has been using D-2 the past couple of years.
TSP Super Spin pips & Nittaku Bizelox are both discontinued, what are the rubber & blade more similar not discontinued?
Super Spinpips got rebranded as Spinpips D1. As for blade, you'd want something five-ply, very flexible and fairly soft. Maybe not as slow as a blockman or tsubudaka, but more like an offensive classic. Looking around some people have said she actually used Spectol (now Spectol S1), but that's very old information.
