Ma Long, Xu Xin, Zhang Jike, Yan An and Wang Hao all secured their place in the team and singles event after winning at the Chinese squad trials. However the men’s team has seven places so the remaining two places were nominated by the coaches, the lucky two players that were picked consist of Ma Lin who missed out at the national trials and sixteen year old Fan Zhendong who won the 2012 World Junior Championships.

Ma Long, Zhang Jike, Wang Hao, Xu Xin and Fan Zhendong will only compete in the singles event so China will be represented in the doubles by three strong partnerships consisting of Fang bo and Chen Qi, Ma Lin and Hao Shuai and Wand Liqin and Zhou Yu.

Meanwhile in the Women’s singles event China will be represented by Ding Ning, Wu Yang, Liu Shiwen, Li Xiaoxia and Hu Limei who all booked their place in the team after winning the Chinese squad trials. The remaining two places were yet again determined by the coaches and the two players that will be accompanying the talented five to the championships include the World Junior Champions Cheng Men and Zhu Yuling.

Unlike the Chinese men’s team the women will take part in both singles and doubles events meaning that the doubles pairings to represent china will be Ding Ning and Liu Shiwen, Li Xiaoxia and Guo Yue and Zhu Yuling and Cheng Men.

The mixed doubles pairings to represent China include Wang Liqin and Rao Jingwen, Qiu Yike and Wen Jia, and Chen Qi and Hu Limei.

The Chinese line up consists of some extremely strong players and it will be interesting to see if any of these can come away with a medal or the title of champion at the upcoming 2013 World Table Tennis Championships.
