Anyone knows what LSW is up to these days? I don't recall her ever officially announcing her retirement, so is she still training with CNT part time while juggling new commitments? Hard to imagine how she can maintain such a level otherwise. Maybe she should come back to the international scene again since her juniors appear to be struggling 🤪

IIRC, she said 退隊不退役/resigning from CNT but not retiring. Same for XX.

CNT coaches be rolling in their graves now. Veterans continue to win, and existing core player (LGY) performed worse than someone (LSW) who only trains with the provincial team now.

That said, how old is Zhao Zhaoyan. His FH was quite dominating initially. I don't think I have ever seen him play. ZZY/SMY is like a switched-up version of Mizutanito.

Hard to compare partners, I thought LGY played well. Not a lot of competition for them though. As far as I can see they're the only pair with 2 CNT A team members. In fact, LGY is the only core team member in the XD, and other than QTY I don't see any current or former CNT core player on the women's side (best of the rest is maybe Fan Siqi or He Zhuojia), so LSW would be one of the top players for women as well.

The national champs haven't really been a focus for CNT over the years, when was it when a near 40 year old won men's champ....

However, it is evidence on that the depth is indeed lower and lower every time
