2025 National Team selection criteria
10 men and 10 women
1) 3 players to receive automatic selection based on ranking points earned across domestic and overseas competitions in 2024
2) An additional 6 to 7 players will be selected based on the final results of the 2025 National Team Selection trials rounds 1 to 3.

Current KNT players will only join the selection trials 3rd round (first two rounds are for juniors, university students, reserve members to duke it out). Third round will feature 20 players per gender with the top 6 to 7 players filling out remaining national team spots, according to how many playrs have already been selected based on prior criteria.

Selection criteria for WTTC 2025 (different from KNT which will have 10 players per gender)

1. Winner of 78th National Championships
2. Top 10 in world ranking (as of Tuesday, 24 December 2024)
3. After selection by the above two methods, vacancies will be filled via a selection method from the 10 KNT members. Date and method will be announced later. Selection method is subject to change by the ITTF's selection regulations.

According to the new updated criteria, only one naturalised player will be eligible for selection. This means that only one out of JJH, Joo Cheon Hui, and Lee Eunhee are going to make it. Surprisingly, neither Joo Cheon Hui nor Choi Hyojoo's names are currently in the 2024 KNT list.

To answer your question, I don't think Suh Hyowon is going to make it via national championships, world rankings, nor selection trials. We'll have to see what selection method KNT puts forth for the remaining WTTC spots but she has a higher chance now that the selection criteria favours native players once more.

You could see he was missing that extra something at the end of the 4th and throughout the 5th set.

Congrats to Zhou Qihao, he played incredibly well and deserved the win.

The Feeder doha will start soon and run along with the china smash. However I am confused. Yukiya Uda is the highest ranked player at this event (WR40 to WR92 Nuytinck) but he is in qualifying.

Was surprised to see Kao a betting underdog against Lind here. Especially with how well Kao played in Macao.

After the emotional high of yesterday I don't expect Lind to be able to repeat the performance so I put a couple hundred bucks on Kao.

Great adjustments by Lind mixing up the spin and tempo to bring it back to 2-2.

Lind is making me a believer. Definitely something going on if he is able to beat another quality opponent after WCQ

Wow that was an amazing comeback win for Lind. Looked for a bit like it would a 3-0 for KCJ but Lind started playing a bit more passive and giving him spin variety and letting Kao make the mistakes.

This is a formula that works well for casual players but I don't see it done like this at this highest level very often. Kao tried to adjust with some decent soft touches and placement blocks but he couldn't really play that game with Lind either.

Wonder if this style will get him any further. Seems to work best on the athletic fast players.
