So I've been off from table tennis for about 4 years already, stopped for a while before COVID and couldn't get back since. I want to know what has changed in the equipment world since, I want to get back with the sport but as I haven't been doing regular maintenance on my bat for at least all the time I've been gone, I could still use it after changing the glue once more, but I'm planning on buying a new one. I play a hybrid chinese-european style with a lot of spin on the forehand and quick attacks on the backhand, fairly offensive but mostly allrounded playstyle. I started with a Hurricane 3 on the forehand later changed to a Hurricane 8, and a Donic F1 on the backhand later changed to an F2 because I couldn't control the ball. The blade for this has almost always been a Clipper Wood, so I've been using a very heavy setup for a long time, changed to a lighter blade once but it broke so I went back to the old Clipper. Don't want to change much up but want recommendations, price isn't an issue.

Btw I do have a provincial Hurricane 3 Neo that I got gifted some time ago, and have been able to train my backhand since I changed to the F2 for more consistency, so that may be a consideration.

I've been gone from the sport since covid and wonder what's changed in the equipment world since, as I need a new bat to start playing again.

I play a hybrid chinese-european style, a lot of spin on the forehand and a lot of bounce and speed on the back, basically pure offensive, but my plays are fairly allrounded. I started about 9 years ago with a Clipper Wood Fl with Hurricane 3 on the forehand and Donic F1 on the backhand. Later I changed to a VPS V with Hurricane 8 on the black side and F2 on the red, changed to the F2 because I couldn't control the speed. Broke the blade about a month into using it, so went back to the previous Clipper. And that's the setup I still have, might need to reglue the rubbers if I want to use it, but the blade is proper old now.

I've been able to improve my backhand consistency so I want something faster, but I'm not sure, go back to the F1 or F1 plus, or something similar.

Would prefer a lighter blade since I've been using the same super heavy setup for a long time, but I'm not too fond of carbon from all the ones I've tried from peers, a bunch of Viscarias and TBs and all kinds, from training camps in China, but I'm willing to try if they've changed. At least from my time there, the Viscaria T05 and T64 combo I saw so much there, that's fairly adaptable to my playstyle I just couldn't get used to.

I've been gifted a provincial Hurricane 3 Neo but I'm not sure if I want to use it, if I were to change all my equipment to new. That's basically all from me.

Very similar to the Clipper but might be easier to get with less than 90g: Tibhar Force Pro Black Edition or Tibhar Bernadette Szöcs Signature 1.
Edit: Forgot the Sanwei Fextra/Fextra One that might also be easier to get below 90g.

Maybe some carbon blades like the Butterfly Innerforce ALC or Yasaka Ma Lin Carbon are worth trying.
FH: I would get some booster and use the H3 Provincial ;)
BH: Light and fast ESN/Tensor rubbers Victas V>11, Donic BlueStorm Z2, Xiom Vega Asia

Clipper is good.
H3 is good.
F1 is good.
Everything seems good. Why change?
A criticism my coach has always pointed out of me for the six years I've played is how I play close to the table offensively but the bat lags behind, hitting very awkwardly sometimes. Of course that gave my smashes a lot of momentum and explosive power very few of my age group had.

But nowadays as I've not been playing I'm slower and my opponents are physically stronger, so letting the bat lag behind the rest of the movement isn't a good way to play.

That's why I wanted to change the setup a bit.

Besides, I once convince a friend to lend me his clipper cr to use my same setup thinking it would be better because it's lighter, but the problem became worse because the center of gravity made it lag even more.

I think a complete overhaul might be beneficial.
