I love the brand, but sometimes its hard to distinguish one model from the other. Is there a group for Darker enthusiast around?

Good idea as Darker enthusiast describes me.
It goes without saying that the group would need Jpen representation as Darker and Jpen are practically synonymous

I was so sad before as I too love one ply pure kiso-hinoki but I am a shakehander and not J-Pen.

Then I found brand Ariex and they are willing to do bespoke, now I am sad no more.
Have you ever considered making one bespoke with Gerry ? Probably the best custom blade maker in the world

7P is 7 Ply
2A (2 aramid layers?)
carbon is carbon layer
7t?
2A originally indicated all Hinoki wood multi-ply blades.
5P-2A 5 ply, 7P-2A 7 ply. both 6.5mm.
7P-2A.7t 7 ply 7mm.
7P-2ACarbon 6.5mm with 5 wood and 2 carbon plies.
Now in the 2024 catalog the 7P-2A and 5P-2A are changing to 7P-2A.Ri and 5P-2A.Ri.
Still all wood but with a different unspecified plywood combination

2A is just the Darker code for the specific wood treating/glueing process. It is unrelated to the particular wood or carbon layers. Not all Darker pure hinoki blades were made using this process, only the A2 line.
Or, citing Darker "2a is a product name reflecting the Darker's unique process enhancing the performance".
I am not sure what kind of carbon it is, but it is most likely not aramid. My guess is it is a thick layer of carbon fleece.
7t denotes a thickness of 7 millimeters.
