Do you think boosting a dead-ish hybrid would give a little more life span?

Well,

Last month I started using hybrid rubbers (k3 and c55) and I can already feel the rubber dying out...

That said, I do think it'll last some more months (even though the topsheet looks like crap, still plays very nicely), but I would like to know if boosting would revive it a little at least.

Yes a good effect if your strokes incorporate strong impact with sponge (and then adding the topsheet friction at the last moments).

Less so if your attacking strokes are based on mainly topsheet friction (and using catapult from sponge support throughout).
Do you think boosting a new hybrid rubber reduces its lifespan? Or it'll stay almost the same?

If the sponge is playing well and the topsheet is not gripping well, boosting won't do much.

If the topsheet is gripping but the sponge is starting to feel less elastic and reactive, then boosting would help.

Really, you can boost any time you want. But what boosting does is expand the sponge. So, it won't have as much impact on the topsheet as it has on the sponge.

Sometimes experimenting is the best way to find out what you gain and what you lose.

I mean when you feel like you’re about to change the rubbers anyway you should experiment with boosting to find it out yourself. I think boosting can help if you feel like the sponge is not as good as it used to be as the others said above. It’s not gonna make the top sheet magically grip better tho if it’s already dead

That's exactly how it feels. The topsheet still very grippy but the sponge feels more dead than it should.
I think I'll give it a try in the next few days then.

The topsheet feels very gripy even though it looks bad, I feel the only problem is the sponge feels dead-ish and way harder than when it was new.

Yep. That is the best time to experiment.

Probably some of that is in your head. What you describe sounds like exactly what a HYBRID rubber is supposed to be.

My sense is, you just have been infected by the EJ Virus and want to mess with your equipment much more than you should.

This is, of course, also based on our PM chain rather than just posts in this thread.

Just stick to one setup and don't mess around with your equipment too much. If you just got yourself a new blade to slow things down and now you are getting set to boost rubbers that still have good grip....maybe you should just chill out and use one thing for several months before changing anything.
