Does Hurricane 3 Neo rubbers get tackier overtime?

I use hurricane 3 neo national blue sponge on my forehand and neo provincial on my backhand. Do others also feel that their h3 rubbers, when brand new, dont have the tackiness most boast about? Because I find that they grow tackier overtime. On another note I also am trying to experiment how to speed up the process by applying heat etc.

Cheers!

in recent times not just H3s but pretty much all Chinese rubbers previously known as very tacky have lost a big part of their tackiness.
Maybe the chinese have run out of the ""tacky-stuff"" 😂

Re. rubbers getting tackier as they age.
Do you think that they are getting tackier through using them or just storing them away unused ?

The only situation I experience when some rubbers get tackier is when I clean them well-store them away for a few weeks nicely covered with the clear plastic protection sheets.
Then when I decide to play with these blades again it needs quite some force to pull the clear sheets off.

That’s hilarious to think about, the chinese running out of tacky stuff.

My brother has the same rubber as me and he bought it 3 months ago whilst i just bought mine last week. Maybe your onto something with the notion of having it sealed for quite some time as my brother has kept his in his case for a while maybe for a week or two. All the same, my dignics09c before was like this. Not tacky in when i bought it and it kept bouncing the ball high but after a couple of months experimenting, applying all sorts of stuff, it became as tacky as my hurricane 3 Neo which was insane. Pretty much matching the tackiness standards set by Chinese rubbers.

Looks like you have found the magic trick of the "tacky stuff"". If you manage to produce it you could sell it to the chinese and become a millionaire but of course I shall then ask you for my 10% Commish 🤣🤣🤣

No it doesn’t become more tacky. It may appear so. After a session you will have dust collected, this will make it seem like the tackiness has gone. By cleaning it and putting protective covers on it will regain most of its tackiness. But it will always decrease.
However I feel it is at its best when just before the tackiness has completely gone.

Cheers

YOU CAN NEVER STOP AN INQUISITIVE ENGINEER.

We were really intrigued from hearing about tackiness quality dropped with time for some rubber brands.
So now, we сonstructed inclined stand aiming to verify the rumours and speculations all about , same way as the ™Busters of Legends" did before.

It is a money consuming job indeed, not all manufacturers willing to land us rubbers for free.
Experiments are now in progress, you cant stop a zeal engineer. 👺 maxresdefault.jpg

Alright so I have an update.

Early warning, dont do what I just did.

Basically, i coated the rubber topsheet with baby oil for half an hour 1-2 layers. Then after used a blow dryer for a bit while wiping with my hand. Then add a coating of rubber rejuvenator revolution 3. Now its really tacky like my rubber before and much more than my Brother’s

And how does it play?
It plays so much better than when it was brand new. It had a somewhat waxy oily feeling to it when it was brand new like when it gets damp from sweat or moisture in the air. It basically got really sticky and it lost its matte look and got a shiny look to it. Honestly, Im impressed at how it managed to get that aged feel to it as hurricane rubbers tend to show their tackiness overtime. By accelerating the process, I basically got the effect of the rubber as if it aged a couple of months.

Cool - how long does that effect stay? Do you have any long-term experience? Usually, any baby oil, petroleum and the like treatment don't stay for more than a couple of days or a minor amount of actual playing time in the hall.

Yeah so, I did this to my dignics 09c that i got since feb of 2024. On the 3rd month I started experimenting and adding those in. Altho I didn’t rely on baby oil too much or on any lubricant, I mainly relied on the Revolution no.3 rejuvenator and rubbing my rubber to remove some waxy layers. All in all it still stays tacky to this day and it even rivals my old Hurricane 3 Ma Long version when peeling the plastic protector.

In short, it lasts quite a bit more than the length of time that you said.
