Hello,

I was changing the rubbers on my friend's waldner senso carbon but the fh rubber pulled half of the top ply off. So we're looking for a non Donic replacement in a similar price range.

He's a newbie so he can't really play with hard carbon blades, this was perfection for him. I'm thinking yasaka ma lin carbon stiga oc carbon.

How close are they? They seem pretty close in construction but I've never tried them. I just know that yasaka/stiga quality is a million times better, and they're cheap.

If they're too different feel free to give suggestions.

Thanks!

It'll change the characteristics. It's nice because it's soft and stable. The wood quality is just horrible...
I really don't think so, I've used both Waldner Diablo Senso and Senso Carbon like... for decades, and sealing them does not change the characteristics, just put a very thin layer first, a tiny bit of sanding after that so that the rubbers can stick well on the blade and voilà. What makes those blades special is the feeling of control you get with the hollow senso handle.

Seriously, buy a bunch of Senso Carbon if you can as they're not too pricey, cos' if it's like the Diablo Senso Donic will soon discontinue them.

And switching to a complete diferent brand will on the contrary change too much the feeling than sealing the same one.

I've tried his blade a bit and I really liked it. Now that you say it's getting discontinued, I may get a wsc, don't know for the diablo, never even heard of it.

The DHS PG-5 has the same composition as far as I know: Limba - Ayous - Carbon - Ayous - Carbon - Ayous - Limba. Weight is also nearly the same. Costs around €35,- on aliexpress.
Nowhere near the same. PG5‘s head is much larger and is head heavy. The handle is a lot thinner too

The Diablo is discontinued, that's why I switched to the WSC I've used before also. Then with age being slower, and with a shoulder injury at work, I need even more control, that's why I switched to the Samsonov Alpha SGS with max thickness hybrid rubbers, not the "brick" ones though. The diablo was the same construction as the WSC, with glass fiber instead of carbon. Man, that blade was special.

Unique, how does glass fibre play?

Isn't pg5 all wood? Or is it pg7 that's like clipper?

Sorry missed that one. Glass fiber basically does the same as carbon to get a better consistency all over the blade, but not as fast as carbon. It is between an all wood and a carbon.

The reviews here are quite accurate

It’s mentioned here somewhere and I saw it in a video
Use speedglue as first one thin layer on the blade only. Let it dry and then apply water based rubber glue.
You never have that problem again.
Personally I don't like how blades with sealing play. I'll recommend it to him though.

But it's that special huh? Nothing is really like it?

But it's completely different construction, the diablo is 3+2 and the wsc is 5+2.

Nope, there has been many mistakes about that blade, it's based on the Allplay + 2 layers of glassfiber around the abachi core, so it's Limba - Anigre - GF - Abachi - GF- Anigre - Limba and Senso carbon replaces GF with carbon

First, it's a fact that Diablo is discontinued.

Second, there are 2 types of Diablo:
1. The original Diablo is 3+2 (I own this). The intermediate ply between core and top-ply is fibreglass.
2. Many years ago, when I browsed through Donic catalog, Diablo was listed as 5+2. I don't know why they change it because the original is fine, but I guess it is because of the 40+ plastic ball.
