Hey, everybody,

I've been playing table tennis for about 4 years, for the last two years I've been trying to practice regularly 2 - 3 times a week. I've also been to multiball a few times with a coach, but more just within the "club". I play unregistered competition (weekly match).

I started with the setup:
Blade: donic appelgren allplay
BH: 1.8 - donic quattro aconda medium
FH: 1.8 - donic quattro aconda medium

About 1 year ago we changed the rubbers to
BH: MAX - Joola Rhyzm-P
FH: MAX - Joola Rhyzm-P

I think the blade is sufficient for my playing for now. Maybe in another year or two I'll change to something a bit faster.

I try to both from FH, BH to play topspin. I block and chop when I need to. So I try to play most of the strikes. I'm trying to turn the game.

I would need advice on what rubbers to install. I have pretty little consistency on BH so far. So I was thinking of something slower and without the tensor effect. (Sriver, MARK-V etc) but I'm not sure. On FH I'm thinking of leaving Rhyzm-P just put a bit lower. (2mm)

Thanks a lot for the advice and different opinions.

Unfortunately we can't embed the video yet. I don't have the necessary 5 posts.

I give you permission to make a couple of simple posts that mean nothing in this thread so you do have 5 posts and can post the video footage.

But, it sounds like you are on the right track. How was the donic quattro aconda medium for your BH when you used it? You could go back to that. But Mark V might be fine as well.

Thank you very much, I will create and embed the video. It's funny that when one sees the video it's a disaster :D

With Quatro aconda, I played more than a year ago, my skills at that time were on a completely different level, so it's hard to compare.

I was asking about when you used Quattro A'conda Medium, back then, were you able to handle it?

I guess it does not matter since, being honest, looking at the footage, I can see reasons for going back to Quattro A'conda Medium on both wings NOW anyway. But Mark V would be fine as well.

You may have improved a lot over the past year. But equipment that allows you to control your shots is more valuable than most people realize. I see a lot of balls that go into the net on backspin that did not need to and a lot of shots that go long that did not need to on both wings for both you and your training partner. Nothing wrong with that....but rubbers you were better able to handle might help you get more balls on the table.

Thank you very much for your reply. I agree that there are a lot of balloons I've messed up. That's why I'm wondering what setup would be appropriate that will allow me to continue to improve and get more balls on the table.

For info, I'm the one in the yellow shirt.

Thank you very much.

I made the assumption that you were the one with the yellow shirt because that was who set up the camera. I understand I could have been wrong. You each do certain things well. And you each have trouble reading and responding to certain kinds of balls. This is normal.

From my perspective, your blade is fine. If you wanted a slightly more lively rubber on FH you could probably use Xiom Vega Pro or Xiom Vega Europe. But I would recommend Mark V. For your BH you should probably just go back to Quattro A'conda Medium or go to Mark V. Joola Mambo might be fine as well. But I think Mark V is better for spinning the 40+ Poly balls. So......

I would just get Mark V for both sides and take your time to get used to it. Because it will be a step down from Rhyzm P.

That is my thoughts. However, there are inexpensive Chinese rubbers that you could use that would also be fine.

From my perspective, I don't think that a equipment change will fix anything here.
My recommendation is to look for a good coach and take lessons for some time.

Equipment change won't fix technique or improve the ability to read the incoming ball. But, something easier to control will make it possible for him to reduce some of those mistakes that are caused by small contact errors due to touch and feel which need to be developed over time. So, it might help him do some of the things he needs to in order to improve which the current rubbers are hindering because of those kinds of mistakes which cause a player to cut down their stroke or cause a player to lose confidence.

But coaching is always good advice.

I don't expect the material to play out for me. But if they have to change the covers for durability reasons. I'd like something to help me gain stability and improve my game. I know it takes a lot of practice. Thank you very much

Can I please ask what errors you see? So we can focus on them in training.

I know there are a lot of them and it's for another discussion, but still please in points.

Thank you very much.

Thank you would probably be reasonable. So I can move on.

So please do you think the rubbers edit on

FH: XIOM VEGA EUROPE 2.0 or MAX?
BH: Yasaka MARK V 2.0 or MAX?

Thank you very much,

what about the Nittaku Factive instead of the Mark V ?

I like Nittaku Factive, but unfortunately the store where I buy table tennis equipment doesn't sell Nittaku. I think there might be similar rubber from other manufacturers.

Focus on the physical aspect of the game, balance and timing.
I like what I see in the footage and is easy to observe that both of you have a clear idea about the game and how spin works.
I´m sure that a good coach can help you improve those details and with people open, like you are, is even easier.

Thank you, hopefully it will continue to improve.

However, I now need to sort out what new rubbers to buy.
