Europe Top-16 Cup 2025 (ТОП-16 Европы-2025, also known as the 2025 CCB Europe Top 16 Cup after its main sponsor) is a table tennis competition that will be held from 20–23 February 2025 in Montreux, Switzerland, organized by Swiss Table Tennis and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) under the leadership of European Table Tennis Union (ETTU). This will be the 54th edition of the Europe Top 16 Cup and the ninth time it will be held in Switzerland.
The tournament will be held in men's singles and women's singles.
In 2025, the CCB Europe Top16 Cup Montreux will be a qualifying round for the ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025, which will be held from 14 to 20 April 2025 in Macau. The semi-finalists of the tournament, 4 men and 4 women, will directly qualify.
Tournament qualification
22 players per gender will be selected to participate in the 2025 CCB Europe Top 16 Cup.
- The reigning European Champion;
- The winner of the previous TOP 16 Cup;
- The best 19 players from the latest ETTU European Ranking List (December 2024) published on 6 December 2024, excluding the reigning European Champion and the winner of the previous TOP 16 Cup, or the best 20 players if a player from the host association has qualified;
- If no player from the host association has qualified, the host association must nominate one player from each gender.
Substitutions
Substitutions before the registration closing date must be made in accordance with the registration rules and in accordance with the European ranking available on 06.12.2024 (December 2024 ranking)
- if the European Champion is unavailable or withdraws, he/she is replaced by the highest-ranked remaining player from the European ranking;
- if a player of the host association is unavailable or withdraws, he/she is replaced by another player nominated by the host association;
- if any other player is unavailable or withdraws, he/she is replaced by the highest-ranked remaining player
In case of late withdrawal of players from the main draw (after the draw of the qualifying tournament and before the draw of the main tournament), the place in the main draw will be determined by a draw between the two losers of the 2nd round preliminary matches.
Playing System
The 2025 CCB Europe Top 16 Cup will feature an innovative new format:
- Thursday: Qualifying rounds for the players ranked 15–21 in the ETTU rankings and one Swiss player. The two winners of the second round will advance to the main draw.
- Friday: Round of 16 matches for men and women.
- Saturday: Quarter-finals for both categories.
- Sunday: Semi-finals and finals for men's and women's singles.
All matches will be played in a Best of 5 format, and the competition will be held at one table over four days.
Draw Procedure
Players who are directly qualified to Main Stage are determined according to Invitation List for this event.
The seeding list will be made according to the ETTU European February ranking. February Ranking will decide the seeding order among the 14 players who are in the Main Draw, and among 8 players, who are in the Preliminary Stage.
The Top 14 players directly qualified to Main Draw and 8 players who need to play Preliminary Stage are determined by the 2024 ETTU European December Ranking (ranking used for the Invitation List).
There shall be no separation by Association.
