I started to play in december of 2014 and have been at it for about 70 weeks if we take out vacations and times where I could not play.
The minimum hours i put in a week are probably 3 and the maximum about 20.
I guess averaging at around 5-8 hours a week I get a total of 350 - 560 hours played so far.

How about you guys ? :)

Around 500 hours in service. I think I exaggerated that in some previous post to keep the progress logical. 150 hours against good opponents. Some 750 hours against Beer ping pong players. Sorry, I too was one among them :D

I did 5 min a day for 300 days... practicing serves at a camp. That is 25 hrs if I stretch it. Maybe another 3x since then so dreaming stretching it maybe 100 hrs on serves. Might have 5k hrs playing for and eating chicken/beer...

I've played about 6000-7000 hours.

It's not really about the hours. It's about how you spend those hours.

Spending hours with the intent of having fun won't really do much.

Spending hours with a goal in mind, for example, 'Today, I will make my backhand flip cross court faster', helps.

Pfff. The NSA Phony software and Pokemon GO make it so easy it isn't fair. Before, we had to locate, indoctrinate, pay salary for, and mini dresses and stockings for the lady used to bait the honey trap. That never happened on demand within a few hours, even with all the gear we appropriated from Men in Black and an open market offer of all the Louis Vuitton and Prada they could go through if they agreed to work with us...

Heck. Now all you gotta do is plug in the drop zone coordinates minus a 10 meter standoff distance, drop a Goon Squad Metro incense and let the greed of the Goon Squad take over.

The SpyPhone and PokeymonGo have made it easy to trap those goons. But how would they have been developed without all the research and the hours you have put in to develop techniques for trapping goon squad thugs.

Why just this morning I saw a group of three 12 year old girls using PokemonGo to lay a trap for the goon squad. And they were as successful as can be.

How could that have come about without all those years of accumulate experience and chicken and beer bets?

Chicken and beer bets can really liven up an otherwise average round robin for sure.

I must have spent thousands of hours in Korean clubs when i was there, but it wasn't all table time, a chunk of the time was spent at another table in the club doing arm curls.

Then you should have developed arms like Ronnie Coleman with a body type of Lee Sang Su :D

Hi
Right from day 1 which was 20th March 2015 when I first picked up a racket. I put down exactly how much ball time I was doing. I tried to do it accurately so if I was doing a 3 hour practice robot session, then i had four breaks and actually only did 1 1/2 hours table time, that's what I put down.
The total at the moment is 618 which included coaching, robot, solo serve, with partner practice, and all matches.

Hey Andy, great to hear you're still there practicing quite a good amount of time. You seem to have the most exact time figure of actual play time. 618 hours of actual table time in less than 1.5 years is quite a big amount of time. I guess your game has improved quite a lot since the beginning. Keep up the good work! ;)

By the way, my estimated number of hours is around the 1500 mark.
