Hello, wonder if someone can help me with my backhand grip. So far I’ve tried to “pinch” the paddle between thumb and index finger and let the other three fingers relax. The problem is that the paddle slips out of my grip and I loose control.

The other way I’ve tried is to grip pretty tightly with the three fingers and just let the index and thumb stay on the rubber but with no pressure but it feels more stiff.

Can someone explain to me how I should grip?

Thanks

Hard to tell without pictures or videos.
Usually your first method should work if you're pinching just slightly and your blade's handle and wings fit to your hand 1) The second method should not be used because it always reduces how much and easily you can use your wrist especially when playing backhands.

Edit: What I wrote sounds a bit contradictory to what they say in the video but it is imo a mixture of both: slight pinching with index and thumb and slight gripping with the other three fingers. Don't seem to find the right words other than not too firm and not too loose (besides when contacting the ball).

1) that's why I have to sand each and every blade's wings until I feel that I can comfortably grip and switch fast from FH to BH and back. Currently I'm trying to keep a more BH oriented grip like in the video but this will take time.

try this experiment tighten the hand with first two fingers and thumb then try to tighten with the last two your wrist will feel tight and hard to move with the first two ... Now with only griping with the last two wrist will still move as freely . This also applies to the forehand loop used with wrist last two fingers only give the wrist freedom here some pressure on the rubber with 1st finger helps with the forehand , try this when playing
