The amount of different H3 rubbers is madness!

I kind of know what I like in a rubber nowadays, but don't feel my EJ journey would be complete without ever trying H3!
To make it clear, I have no intention of boosting and would rather play the rubber exactly how it comes out of the packet.

I'm looking for a FH rubber, I like to stay close to the table and never more than 1m back from it.
I prefer to play the ball straight off the bounce. Attacking with topspin, although I have no problem pushing or taking the speed out of the ball if I feel it necessary.

I use an allround +, 5 wood blade or a Drinkall, powerspin, carbon blade.

I don't brush loop anything, I tend to drive through the ball and prioritise spin and control over speed.
I like a rubber that is very linear. I get all the speed I need through power so don't like a bouncy or catapult effect rubber.

Any suggestions please.

If you're going for a Hurricane 3, the why don't start with the ordinary commercial in 39deg. This could be a good start and you'll soon see if you want a harder, softer or faster Hurricane 3.

Same here. For peace of mind and if in budget H3 Neo provincial orange sponge 39° or Nittaku Hurricane 3 Neo (NR-8701) 1). Maybe 38° if used unboosted.
Should make a good fit boosted and unboosted with the Drinkall Powerspin (similar to Viscaria). On an allround blade I would definitely boost it.

1) this is just a H3 Neo with Nittaku stickers on the package maybe a bit harder than 39° but usually cheaper in Europe than DHS provincial H3Ns

OK.
Thanks for the replies.

Of all the variations on sponge colour and hardness, which tend to be the lightest

The softer the lighter. But no way to pick h3 is weight as it is always heavy.

Get imo a provincial h3 or h3 neo in orange or blue sponge. I prefer h3 blue sponge because it reminds me most of globe 999

The reason for provincial is very sometimes you get a bad h3 top sheet. If that is your first sheet you might never try it properly and give up thinking it's crap.

My advice would be not to try H3 if you don’t intend to boost it - it’s designed to be boosted and there are better options if you don’t want to boost.

It’s actually not a heavy rubber and lighter than most hybrids.

I’d try H3 neo orange (commercial or provincial) and add a couple of layers of Seamoon - then you will know what H3 can do.
