What happened? All of the sudden the past 2 weeks I feel i lost my spark and passion and energy and joy for playing TT. Many times im just going through the motions but i feel disinterested. Many times i dont even change into my shoes and just play in boots.

I feel a bit lost and i dont know what to practice or what to focus on.

Buy more rubbers & blade. This should rekindle your sparks. It worked for me until I found a coach and the real journey begins. Well, at least for me.

Ahh, I know what happened, you need to buy more blades/rubbers to kickstart the joy once more, I called it the EJ denial syndrome: you know you want more, but you also know you don't need more, so you stopped buying, but you're just suppressing yourself, then your body starts fighting your mind, and you feel no joy doing the other half of TT because half is just incomplete. We called it junkie for a reason you know.

You know what you are missing?

I know you want it, you crave for it, it speaks to you in your ears, in your dream...

You want these:

FZD Super ZLC
Dignics 09C
Dignics 64

the most badazz combo on the planet.

I actually played quite well today, i got 3-2 against a 2050 guy.

But i came away feel disinterested, unenthusiastic, and confused.
At your level you should be hammering him 3-0, no wonder you seem confused. But nonetheless no big deal, a temporary set back that Butterfly can always fix.

Well yeah I was wondering about the 729 King Ebony blade series, but I decided against it in the end because everybody said it would be very stiff. So I figure I would end up hating it anyways. Apart from that, haven't seen anything that really caught my eye.

Loosing interest in something we loved doing can be a sign of depression.
It pays to talk to somebody who has skill in this department.

Another reason we sometimes loose interest can be when we feel we have reached a
certain level and can not see a way of progressing further.
Should this be the case , I suggest you make a very small step forward like
teach yourself a new serve. How about the Tomahawk or Reverse- Tomahawk serve ??
2 - 3000 balls later you might be "back" and keen to go and try it out in a match.

Take it easy, it is only ping pong

Post No. 7 and we're back to talking about equipment. See, you are cured. Come to TTD more often, we keep you interested in TT. Always, 24/7.

Some good points here. And also a break for a couple of weeks can do wonders.

Before Christmas and a little after i felt very similar. Was tired of losing or feeling like I was playing worse than I should be. The Christmas league break helped, but also going back to a familiar bat set up and concentrating on one or two things to work on.
For me to be more aggressive on BH and work on my serves. I started going back to coaching more regularly and has taken the pressure off league matches.

Also - just trying to have a more positive mental attitude. Not turning up thinking - "Im not going to enjoy this .. or all the luck is going against me" and taking positives from something that is working well.

We all go through these peaks and troughs in all sports - but in table tennis when the margins are so fine and a game can swing on a point or too its easy to get stuck in a rut. It happens to us all, you will turn the corner. Good luck!
