So I a Timo Boll Alc Blade in a online Shop. I don't know if this blade is real or not. Can you verify if this blade is real?

People around here are generally way too eager to call a blade fake, so when people post a question like this it's usually a real one with a bunch of comments underneath saying it's fake because the logo doesn't look exactly right in that very blurry picture or whatever.

That said...this is clearly an imitation of a Butterfly Timo Boll ALC with a CS handle. There aren't many photos online of genuine TBALC's with CS handles because apparently they are only available in the Chinese market, but those that exist clearly show that one side of the handle should have the little Butterfly hologram on it. Certainly, a real one wouldn't have two of the same shield-shaped TBALC logo's on each side of the handle. Finally, the image of the bottom of the handle shows poor alignment of the Butterfly logo plate and JTTAA stamp, and uneven ply thicknesses -- all indicators of cheap construction.

Can you verify if this blade is real?

Finally, I am also happy to verify for you that this blade is real, in the sense that you can paste rubbers on it (indeed, that step looks already complete) and use it to play table tennis (or as a paperweight, if that's your preference). So assuming you paid approx. $30 USD for this blade, I wouldn't feel too bad; you got what you paid for. If you paid full price, then you got ripped off.

The shield thing on both sides was the old design, I remember seeing these before the redesigns and updates in their lineup, in fl and st of course, in the local bty shop many many years ago.

Though this one is fake, bty wouldn't mess up the handle alignment that bad.

fake
got 2 x fh handle cover. no bh handle cover
Didn't it used to be like that in the early models? Both before they changed the logo, when it had the asymmetric wings, and for some time right after the logo change. Then at some point they removed the shield and put the lens. I think at the time the asymmetric logo on the face of the blade was beneath the blue design thing that was on top. If my memory serves me right, I used to see these quite a bit.

Laser engraving is too light and not the right font, top plies are way too thick, misaligned handle design, M serial code indicates 2012 date of production but I'm pretty sure the gen 2 kidney style logo didn't go into production until like 2015 with the P serial codes
