For the very first time in my life, I played a antispin player, and he just happens to be 2150 USATT and the best non-coach guy in our club. I actually did fairly well and got 2-3 against him. One of the games that I won I dominated 11-1. I had 2 things that worked in my favor: 1) I had a fair amount of experience playing against LP, so I wasn't totally unprepared 2) He is left handed so his "trouble" side goes to my FH.
If not for these 2 factors, I would've gotten destroyed.
However, I still find that his Antispin plays differently from the LP. I can't quite pinpoint exactly what is different, but it is somehow a bit different.
Can somebody explain the difference in playing LP and Anti? Especially how do these 2 rubbers respond differently to incoming topspin and underspin?
Which one produces more friction when chopping? Which one produces more "reversal" spin?
