Hey guys so somehow I landed myself in a very surreal situation, Ma Long let me try his "actual" table tennis bat at the recent Waldner Cup!

It was a crazy experience trying it out also whilst having a practice with the one and only Jan Ove Waldner! At the end, Ma Long then trained with 2x Olympic Champion Chen Meng!

Enjoy!

Interesting how you have a wildly favorable review on it now, but when you reviewed boosted hurricane before it was not a good rubber. Is there something different significantly different about Ma Long's racket specifically than when you had reviewed hurricane 3 neo boosted?

The one they reviewed was Commercial H3, right? I'm guessing the National H3 has way more speed and spin.

And they tested the Commercial H3 on a different blade as well.

Conflicts with the reviews from tabletennis11 that tested them and saw almost no difference between national and commercial.

If it was an issue with blade pairing with the rubber I can understand that.

i mean dan plays an really stiff outercarbon blade, so quite normal to have an easier time with the slow and flexible innercarbon malong blade. rubbers also way less bouncier and sticky compared to his dignics hence the better grip. but you can see overshooting quite some time, due to the higher trajectory. and i would add the emotional moment of trying your idols racket, everything feels good i would say :)

How on earth have you managed to get the man’s racket in your hand and NOT had him at the other end of the table 🤣 lifetime opportunity there 🤓

Come on, dude! He's holding ma longs racket!! That alone elevates it to god-like attributes across the board 😄

You think a table tennis fanatic like dan... could really remove any bias he might have?! The sheer level of emotion in the moment of testing would blind him from experiencing objective reality 😂😂

Dan said the rubber is softer than he expected. Could it be that Ma Long is actually using a softer rubber instead of 40 degree or harder?
no, i think it is just the unusual feeling of a heavy boosted rubber.
42° dhs is 60° in euro scale (basically a brick) but with 3 or more thick layers it feels more like a normal hard rubber like around 54 euro scale. together with the softer wood...

Or it's just that the CNT rubbers are a different top sheet than any commercially available H3?
It's been said before that they are softer and more responsive than other H3s, not just because of booster...
