Songshan High School of Commence and Home Economics, table tennis team. A place where Olympic Pro are made!

Intake starts from as young as grade 4 or 5s who would have learn the basics elsewhere, and only the best would enroll in Songshan.

Famous players like Lin Yun-Ju, Kao Cheng-Jui, Feng Yi-Hsin, Chang Yu-An have all came through the system. It is a national team/Olympic team manufacture if one can call it such.

Many other Taiwanese Olympians would also train in Songshan, including the likes of Cheng I-Ching, Chien Tung-Chuan as well as members of the Japanese, Korean, India, USA, Canadian, Australian, Singaporean national teams and many more.

When you mean other Taiwanese Olympians would also train in Songshan High School and also other national teams it’s not limited to high school students only?
those players have they own bases to train, either they home base, or the national training center.
but many of them would go to Songshan for training. Ie Chien choose Songshan in her build up to the Paris Olympics.

Lin Yunju uses Songshan players as training partners in his home base and sometimes would also go and train in Songshan.

the team has 2 levels, with ages from grade 4s to senior level players, including that of some paralympic players.
so it isn't only high schoolers. It is like a national team in a high school :)

There is actually a fan group for players of this center - basically a group of these fans would go to all tournaments (including international) and take photos/videos of these players.

I came across some and chatted with them. They enjoy the sport, don't play it, but they kind of chosen a team (like you would in basketball or football), and stick with it and be fans of players in the team.

So far it looks like very positive fan culture.

With one of my player, some of you may know, called Braxton - (Chang Ping-Cheng).
a "club player" as defined by some, but USATT 2600+ pro player as defined by me, came back from Austria recently to play in a team qualification tournament. When he was done with the tournament, 2 fans walked to where we were sitting, I was sitting next to him during this time.

They asked for an autograph.
Took out a bunch of photos they printed and asked for Braxton to pick two of his favorite and autograph on there.
They each took turns taking photo with him and quietly left with a big smile.
Braxton tried to hide his happiness by staying cool.
It was a nice setting and the effort the fans had - including the respect they had to wait after the tournament for such gesture.

wow the multiball session is quite good esp the double bounce feed. are you gonna upload the rest of the video @Tony's Table Tennis
haha,I will do for sure.
I actually didn't even go through the video first, I merely just start the video and record and spoke what came out of my mind. No script what so ever - other than introducing the school up front.
I didn't check the video, but I am sure what ever content to follow is quality, if you guys like it, I will post more!

yes
still a noob with making videos with narration and pretty much just spoke what came out of my mind without a script - I probably should of made a script and have more an easier direction, but I guess speaking what comes out of my mind would be the normal me.
If I was a hollywood director, I should of spoke more based on the players needs and how these pros (yes real pros, because they get paid to play table tennis) training could help everyone. That probably would be more beneficial.

Next video, of which it is also Songshan part 2.
this was the last 15 mins of the training, part 1 was the first 20 mins.
I skip in the middle as it was continuation of part1 and the start of part 2. So part 2 (last 15 min), you could see the players more tired.

PS. these player are about USATT2500 level at the moment, grade 9 and 8. They are semi pro, because they are getting paid to play table tennis and probably at a level already higher than some national champions or even olympic players. They train full time.
