Is this forehand topspin technique in the video for both top and back spin half-long serves?

Nowhere in this video do I see if this forehand topspin will work for all spin types of half-long serves; he just says lower center of gravity and rotate around the ball close to the table and then don't hit the ball upward but follow through the table. Now I'm wondering if it will work for both side-top and side-back spin half-long serves.

As far as I see, they serve backspin, but I thought only for topspin shots I should hit the ball forward and for the backspin shots I should hit it more upward, but in this case whenever the guy hits the ball upward the coach says it is wrong.

says Spin and more spin.
says Spin and more spin.

Your setup says Tenergy for FH and BH. What version of Tenergy are you using for each side?

i was teached the same by my coach. you will always have a forwardmotion in a topspinstroke, but against underspin it is from down to up coming from the legs and against nospin it is more from behind. the more underspin the more up you go, but you need always a forward momentum to give the ball quality

then there is also a difference between a topspin based on spin and based on hitting(power), but my coach told me that this has more to do with when i meet the ball. when i hit the ball earlier then i need to hit more through the ball and when i take it later then i brush it more.

normaly, when you first start to learn the stroke against underspin, you would always begin with the spin based topspin and let the ball fall then brush. but also depends on your fundamentals and feeling. i learned the hitting topspin against underspin earlier because it just worked for me so easy. but a really good brushed topspin against underspin can win A LOT of points in the beginner to intermediate level. (the more underspin you get, the more topspin you can create and your opponent need to handle)

There is no such thing as 1 type of contact for all balls unless the opponent's spin levels are much lower than yours and you can easily overpower it by brute force.

But the basic structure should be the same like what is taught.
