Wang Liqin, Wang Hao, Ma Lin

Ma Long, FZD, Xu Xin

But right now, Wang Chuqin is in a bad slump. FZD is the top Chinese player it seems, but he is unstable at times as well. And the 3rd player might be the still young and unproven Lin Shidong.

No mention of ZJK? is WTTC and Olympic titles weren't part of them being dominant? Or Liu Gouliang and Kong Linghui who paved the way for Ma Lin and Wang Liqin?

Definitely those guys too. I wasn't trying to be complete in the history of men's dominant players.

I just feel like right now, the top 3 is shakier than we are used to seeing.

Very strong per Hirano's comment in 10/2021. Now that Harimoto has finally caught up, who along with Hirano have just beaten 3 CNT players for a total of 4 times at ATTC 2024, it's difficult to argue otherwise unless you go back to the '50s and '60s.

However, KOR with Oh Kwanghun at the helm, is one to watch out for.

I think you misspelled ZJK with FZD. So far there has not been any talent matching those of Ma Long and Zhang Jike or even Xu Xin. The issue is also compounded by the switch to the plastic ball where spin is less of a weapon over brute force and players with less sensitivity and creativity can now compete more evenly with those that do have it.

It is only weak because ML and FZD are absent - the 2 strongest players currently.

ZJK, Ma Lin, WLQ lost plenty of matches especially in the small stage.
