With Hayata and Ito no longer under contract, I guess the Red Elves signed JJH to strengthen their team. But instead she lost to 11 year old prodigy Miku Matsushima. Still, NL Red Elf not doing too bad at 6-5. But the story this year has been the rise of NP Mallets (Odo, Yokoi, Hashimoto, Sato) to break up the domination of Red Elf (Hayata in past seasons) and Abyell (Miwa, Hirano, Kihara, Nagasaki). NP Mallets are a perfect 10-0 which includes beating Abyell.

The prospect doesn't look good for Hayata, either. How far do you think she can reach at WTT F Fukuoka 2024 given her current shape? This season is coming to an end and she will have a hard time keeping herself afloat next year, just like Ito is experiencing right now.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hayata will not get back to her previous level. Seeing how she keeps her left hand down when waving at the crowd (a ton of radial/ulnar deviation like in a FH stroke), I suspect her current injury involves more than just the muscle but also the tendon and/or ligament, all of which will recover by scar formation that end up weaker than before and are prone to re-injury.

In the latest episode of Sports Real & Live by TV Tokyo on the 18th, a short clip of Hayata's interview (1:12-1:22) was shown before the screen cut to Hayata, Hirano and Harimoto practicing at the table in the Infinity Arena. Hayata's playing wrist is still wrapped in bandage.

In a Mizuno event on the 12th, Hirano revealed the reasoning behind the lineup for WT F at ATTC 2024. It turns out she picked the 3rd match on purpose when asked by Watanabe, not because she wanted to run away, but because she had defeated SYS and WYD before but never CXT, therefore she wanted to defeat her as well, and that it turned out to be a good decision as she delivered.

表情に自信がみなぎる。大藤は大阪・四天王寺中時代から強豪ミキハウスを拠点に腕を磨き、昨年10月から世界選手権3度出場の坂本竜介コーチ（39）の指導を受け急成長。今年4月からWTTツアーに本格参戦すると、下部の「フィーダー」「コンテンダー」のシングルスでは出場した6大会すべて決勝に進み、優勝5度。10月には格の高い「チャンピオンズ」のモンペリエ（フランス）大会でも初出場初優勝した。

4月9日付で125位だった世界ランキングは、今月12日付で8位まで一気に上昇。5位の早田ひな、6位の張本美和に次ぐ日本勢3番手にのし上がった。坂本コーチは「下半身と上半身の連動が抜群。まだ65％。もっと強くなるし、ならないといけない」と評価する。同い年の横井と組むダブルスでも10月のアジア選手権を制し、世界ランキングで日本勢最上位の5位につける。

巴黎周期早田希娜和巴奥女团4人交手是3胜24负，如果除去与孙颖莎交手的14次（全负），她对剩下的3人是3胜10负，而她的队友平野美宇与巴奥女团4人交手数据正好就是3胜10负。

所以早田希娜是最强外协吗？其实是的，2024年截至巴奥，她在国际赛场上除了国乒主力以外就只输过两次队友，“外战”表现比王艺迪还厉害（毕竟王艺迪2次负于她的队友，除此之外还负于印女1次）。但如果要说对乒女的冲击性，事实就是巴黎周期的早田希娜确实远不及当年的伊藤美诚，甚至没有比同期的平野美宇更强，看上去也没有比16岁的张本美和更强。但早田希娜确实是一位很厉害的对手，不强大也不可能只赢主力3次但3次都在大赛上。

至于为什么某些乒丝执着于把早田希娜捧上神坛，我只能说光看交手数据就算是大赛党应该也能大概品出味了。

In the Paris cycle, Hayata Hina had 3 wins and 24 losses against the 4 members of the women's team for Paris Olympics. If we exclude the 14 matches against Sun Yingsha (all losses), she had 3 wins and 10 losses against the remaining 3 members, and her teammate Hirano Miu had exactly 3 wins and 10 losses against the 4 members of the women's team for Paris Olympics.

So is Hayata Hina the strongest foreign player? Actually, yes. As of 2024, she has only lost to her teammates twice in international competitions except for the main players of the national table tennis team. Her performance in "foreign wars" is better than Wang Yidi (after all, Wang Yidi lost to her teammates twice, and lost to the Indian women once). But if we are talking about the impact on the women's table tennis team, the fact is that Hayata Hina of the Paris cycle is indeed far inferior to Ito Mima of the Tokyo cycle, and even is not any stronger than Hirano Miu of the same period, and does not seem to be any stronger than the 16-year-old Harimoto Miwa. But Hayata Hina is indeed a very formidable opponent. If she were not strong, it would have been impossible to defeat the main players 3 times, and all 3 times in major competitions.

As for why some table tennis fans are obsessed with deifying Hayata Hina, all I can say is that even those who only watch major tournaments should be able to get a rough idea just by looking at the stats.

まだ万全の状態ではない、という早田選手。今後については、「まだまだ時間はかかるのかなというのはもちろん思いますけど、ケガしたことによって、改めてやってみたこと、自分の武器になりそうなものも見えてきたなっていうのはある」とうなずき、「パリ五輪の自分というのは忘れてまた生まれ変わって、また新たな自分としてひとつひとつ戦っていきたいですし、4年後、本物になれるようにしっかり自分と向き合っていきたいです」と前を見据えました。

"One of my goals was to make sure the injury didn't come back after the match, so I think that's probably okay, and I felt like I was able to do everything I'd practiced, so I felt like I gave it about 120%," she reflected.

This tournament was held in Hayata's hometown of Kitakyushu. "I received a lot more applause than usual, and even when I was losing, people cheered me on and called out to me, so I think it was a really happy time," she said with a smile.

Hayata said she is not yet in perfect condition. When asked about the future, she nodded and said, "Of course, I think it will take some time, but because of my injury, I have been able to try new things and things that could become my weapons," she said, looking ahead, saying, "I want to forget about the person I was at the Paris Olympics and be reborn again, and fight one thing at a time as a new me, and I want to face myself properly so that I can become the real deal in 4 years."

世界ランキング上位選手で争う大会で、平野美宇（木下グループ）は陳幸同（中国）に0－3で敗れた。陳の精度の高いプレーに翻弄（ほんろう）されて、完敗。10月のアジア選手権の対戦で初勝利を挙げたが、この日は得意のバックハンドでの攻撃が通じず「相手の凡ミスが全くない時に勝つ戦術が少ない。もっと得点源を増やしたい」と課題を挙げた。

初めてシングルスで出場したパリ五輪など、今年の国際大会を終え「すごく幸せな、いい1年だった」と振り返った。1月の全日本選手権や5月の世界選手権個人戦が控える来年へ「いいスタートダッシュを切れるようにしたい」と抱負を語った。

試合後に平野は、「（アジア選手権決勝で）勝っていたからチャンスがあるかなと思っていた」と戦前の心境を明かしつつも「相手の凡ミスが少なかった」と振り返り、「改めて強い選手だなと思った」と世界7位の実力に脱帽した。

平野は今季、1月の全日本選手権でパリ五輪シングルスの出場権を獲得し、夏の大舞台ではベスト8入り。団体戦では2大会連続の銀メダルメンバーとして大きく貢献した。

平野は今季のシーズンについて「夢がかなった1年」と総括。「卓球でも人間的にも成長できるようにしたい」と今後を見据えた。
