Hello everyone,

Please help me.
I am currently playing with a Boll ALC, equipped with a Rasanter R45 on the forehand and a Feint Long 3 in 0.5 mm on the backhand. I really like the forehand, but I've noticed that I have little control with the Feint Long 3 on the backhand. The balls often come too high, and overall, I feel uncertain.

Recently, I tried the Diode 5 and was pleasantly surprised by the control and quality of the Feint Long 3. However, I now find the forehand to be a bit slower and have more difficulty opening against backspin. Additionally, the rubber on the Diode 5 feels somehow harder than on the Boll ALC, which is not very comfortable for me. The vibrations while playing are also not optimal.

Therefore, I'm wondering if the Harimoto or Ovtcharov Innerforce could be a good solution for my dilemma. I'm looking for a racket that combines the strong forehand of the Boll ALC with the excellent backhand control of the Diode 5.

I would love to hear your opinions and experiences!

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,

I am 38 years old and have been playing table tennis for over 20 years (1782 Points).
My playing style is not that of a typical defender; I always actively attack with my forehand. I mainly use the long pips on my backhand for blocking at the table or for long defense, to keep the ball in play so that I can eventually score with my forehand. I do not wait for my opponents' mistakes, which is why a strong forehand is particularly important to me. I would like to stay with Butterfly, as I am convinced of the quality.

A friend of mine, very good modern defender, uses diode 5 with dignics 09C 1.9mm on his FH (ilius on BH). His forehand is very powerful and spinny. If you want to keep the diode 5, why don't you put a faster rubber on your fh side? One common sense advice would be to try an R48 on your fh, but there are really plenty of choices to upgrade from the R45 you have. I would suggest also Donic Z2 which, from my informations on modern defenders in europe, it is widely used on fh side cause it's fast, spinny, good grab, easy to control and light.
