Actually it looks like Ma did play at his level, but Koki was just smarter than him. He often put Ma Long under pressure so that he couldn't hit a winner, and thus could Koki dominate the rally without having to initiate the attack in every case. The best thing about him is that he never choked. Many players would choke if they got ahead against Ma Long and knew they had a chance to win. Koki just enjoyed what was going on. Really absolute respect for this young man. A couple of months ago I remember we had a discussion if he would be able to carry his junior successes on to the real world stage, because he didn't have much power in his style. Now he has posted several impressive victories over world top players, including Ma Long. He is definitely ready to become a legend.
