Peng You, the editor of 《《Ping Pong》》 Magazine, disclosed on 04-16-2014 through his Sina Weibo that an election was held for men's team captain in which both the players and the coaching staff participated. There were only two candidates, i.e. Zhang Jike and Ma Long. At the end, Ma Long was elected the captain with small margin over Zhang Jike.
