This years Men's World cup will be held in Halmstad, Sweden from the 16th October to 18th October 2015. Recent World Champion Ma Long has entered as the number 1 seed, followed closely by Fan Zhendong the no.2 seed. Will we will an all China final? Can newly crowned European Champion Dimitrij Ovtcharov take the title? Japan's number 1 Jun Mizutani enters as the number 4 seed. Freitas is also in fine form at the moment!

This is going to be a fantastic event, Why? All you need is to look at the seeds and all is clear!

Xu Xin was replaced by Fan Zhendong at the last minute. Xu Xin himself was confused and showed his emotion in his social media Weibo. People suspect that this change is made to for several reasons:
1. More challenge for Ma Long. Ma Long has lost to Fan Zhendong three times in the super league this year, and lost to him in the National Champions last year. It's always intense when Ma Long plays with Fan Zhendong. This experience would improve the of Ma Long mentally when facing his worst favorite player. While if Xu Xin plays, the title will almostly goes to Ma Long without doubt because Ma Long has huge advantage when facing Xu Xin. Their H2H record proves that.
2. A chance for Fan Zhendong. Fan was kind of raped by Captain Long in the semi of the WTTC, which is quite odd according to their previous encounters. Fan claims he wasn't in good shape because he slept later than 1 am the previous day for the Men's double final, while that semi was early in the morning. He should have played better. Fan beaten Ma Long several times in domestic games, but rarely achieve that in international games. Coach Liu want to give him a chance to see what he can achieve in a better form in a bigger stadium.

If Fan can win the World Cup title, he has a good chance to Rio if Zhang Jike cannot recover well.

If Fan wins the world cup, he will go to the Olympics, thats pretty much sure imho : Asian Champion + World cup + best player of chinese superleague......I can't see him not going with all of those achievements.

This is interesting. Xu Xin must not be happy at all. China is so tough, if I was in their position I would have no idea who to choose for the Olympic team in Rio as they all rightly deserve a shot

Fan Zhenong has won 3 times against Ma Long in the China Super League that is impressive as Ma Long is usually unstoppable in the China Super league. I agree also that when Ma Long and Fan Zhendong play now it is intense... similar to the feeling when Ma Long and Zhang Jike use to play one another a few years ago.
