I ordered a sheet of Yinhe Mercury 3 for a friend. I haven't been able to play with it yet, but it looks impressive. The packaging looks a little premium, and it clearly uses higher quality paper packaging than many other rubbers. Even the print and ink seems to be a higher quality printer. It was $14,and it is slightly but clearly curled towards the sponge. Does it curl inwards because of factory boosting?

Almost all Yinhe rubbers actually say factory boosted on the package, but this one doesn't say it. However, there is a strong chemical smell from the rubber, so I think its boosted.

I also don't understand why this rubber is labeled under the Mercury series. Mercury was previously a cheap and tacky and easy to play rubber series. This rubber actually looks to be quite high quality. It looks more like the next evolution of the Moon rubbers.

I put the Mercury 3 on a blade and tried it out. Well, firstly, the Revspin speed rating of 9.2 is ridiculous. Mercury 3 is slow, and quite a bit slower than popular Yinhe rubbers such as Moon Speed and Big Dipper.

After i removed the plastic seal on the topsheet, the rubber curled up even more. So I think it does have some type of factory tuning. For feeling, it is quite good. The rubber has a very comfortable and quality feeling. It has a lively feeling, despite not being fast.

In terms of play, the control is awesome. I had it on my backhand, and it felt so confident to quick-attack with the backhand. But speed is not super fast as I said. Further away from the table, I think it suffers from lack of rebound.
