More tacky = more spin??

Hello, I have 10 year old racket with globe 999 rubbers on both sides. Since my forehand was working great with this rubber, I've decided to purchase another one and to my surprise new rubber is non tacky at all. I feel like I can generate more spin with 10year old rubber, which I haven't cleaned at all, than the new one. It's so sticky that I can pick up the ball for a second.

1. Is it possible that 10year old rubber produces more spin than brand new one, just because it's more tacky. Is it really more tacky= more spin or I'm just playing with myself 😅😅

2. Has someone played with globe 999 and can recommend similar rubbers, but a little bit faster? I love them for their looping abilities, but the sponge feel so dead, I feel like I will have to upgrade in couple months.

1- More tacky doesn't necessarily mean more spin but if you're used to tacky rubbers, it would make sense that you are also better at getting more mileage out of a tacky rubber rather than a nontacky one.

2- Even modern Chinese style rubbers like Hurricane and Skyline are no longer tacky as they once were but it might be worth it to try a more modern style Chinese rubber like Hurricane 3 or even Skyline 3 to see if you can make it work

There are 2 ways to get spin.

1. By brushing, here the contact is light and the tackiness matters.

2. By engaging the sponge. Here the contact is hard and spin comes partly from the stretched sponge and the tackiness matters much much less.

I have just ripped a virtually brand new 999 from a blade because it just did nothing for me. Me buying the rubber was a bit of an act of nostalgia and because they are dirt cheap at Aliexpress. I am talking about the version with the white/creamy sponge.
May i suggest a Loki rxton 3 pro as a replacement.
(maybe only available in black)

Exactly the same, I've put AK 47 red on bh and globe 999 on fh and globe feels on slightly stickier than ak47😆😆. There's no comparing between new one and even 10year uncleaned old one, which is still a beast 😅

Thank you for recommendations, I'll have them in mind since I've rushed a little bit and bought 729 bloom power and 729 battle 2😅 Hope it'll be a upgrade from 999😅

Think about how spin is generated, how can tackiness create more spin? It takes energy to break the "stickiness", so tackiness can only reduce speed and spin. Its usefulness is mostly in the short game, and can also have a small effect in situations where the ball may slip on the rubber. If the stroke is such that the ball does not slip on the rubber then it would only reduce speed and spin.

I would think that in that case the spin gets generated because of hitting the ball hard so that the sponge gets engaged?

Based on experience, NOT stop-motion millions fps experiment:

Tacky (often slightly harder sponge like Hurricane 3) gives max speed and spin when your stroke/impact is perfect.
Grippy (like Dignics 05) gives easier access to tons of spin but has less max spin.

For example, trying to serve underspin, without perfect technique u can get very good spin with D05.
With Hurricane, unless you have good contact/timing/technique, u might get a deadball with the same motion as D05 (prolly because the tackiness has a stopping effect on the ball at low acceleration impact). But with real good brushing, you can get more spin with H3.

So one way to get a good compromise is to use soften Hurricane 3 like H3 37 degrees or boost it. That way, you can get easy access to spin with imperfect technique. But soften sponge generally means slightly less control in general, especially short game.
