My recently purchased Newgy 2055 produces fine slivers (shards) from plastic balls and these coat the discharge wheel

I am spending a lot of time scraping the coat of slivers from the wheel and friction plate of the robot. Those that accumulate on the table just below the robot are shown in the image. The balls supplied were Radak 40+ 3 star plastic balls. I have also tried Joola training balls but that didn't help. I would like to know how common this problem is. There is one mention of it in this forum back in 2019 but not much help provided by the replies. I would greatlyappreciate any suggestions on what balls may be better, or if my almost brand new Newgy has a fault.

There's a part of the machine that the ball is scraping on. You need to identify where it is and smooth it out somehow.
Someone else just posted about this yesterday, here's the thread

Glad to hear I'm not alone; have you tried anything to solve the problem?
Basically no, I dug around looking for obvious issues but couldn't identify anything glaring. I've just cleaned it and continued to use it. I bought a ton of cheapo ball for it, when they're all broken, I'll switch and see if that helps. I think mine doesn't spray shavings as much as yours does, however. Occasionally, there will be a little bit on the table, but the bulk doesn't make it beyond the black finned piece, generally.

imagine sending some 3 star balls down that robot and then use those balls for official matches :p

How you tried contacting the manufacturer?
Actually, maybe you should put a bunch of 3* balls into it and see if it still happens.

3 star balls are noted for their roundness among other things.

If enough training balls are far enough 'off round' that could be why they scratch on the mechanism?

If rounder 3 star balls don't scratch then maybe there's your answer?

Just a thought......🤷

Hey, did you figure anything out with this?
Did you contact the manufacturer about it?

Mine did it, too. After months of dealing with Newgy customer support, I finally sold it and bought a PowerPong and never had a problem.
