I am getting a table tennis table that will live in the garage, and we'll fold it when we're not playing on it. I live near Atlanta Georgia where the temperatures could, while rare, be in the teens and in the summer your talking about upper 90's and low 100s with very high humidity.

Do y'all recommend an indoor or outdoor table? Also, any recommendations?

It depend on other factors: direct sunlight? Storage (pack up each time or stationary)? Price? Windy?

I do not own an outdoor table, but most of my friends in that situation has gotten an outdoor one.
But if you were to get an indoor table, I think it will be fine too, just that it could get worn out alot sooner.
There could be difference to how they play also, and most competitions use indoor table, so it might be different.

If you just want to play recreationally, then outdoor. If you are serious about playing in tournaments, then indoor. Just be prepare to buy a cheap indoor table tennis table and replace it regularly since Atlanta can be humid.

Growing up, my chinese coach's club had 6 indoor table and 1 outdoor table. Nobody liked to play on the outdoor table. it was made by Kettler. It just bounced in a weird manner.

If you play inside your garage i would look for an indoor table. Look in the classified ads, you might find something nice for a low price.

If humidity is a concern you can use a dehumidifier. It will also be more fun for you to play with low humidity.

I've seriously considered a dehumidifier, but being that the garage would be opened while playing, I'm not sure if it would have much impact.

Humidity is your biggest issue.
For indoor table, can consider having a table cover to help protect it.

In terms of quality, bounce and such, I would go for an indoor table over outdoor.
So question is how to preserve your indoor table as long as possible, so your return of investment is worth it.

You will have a better playing/practice experience with a comparatively-priced indoor table when compared to an outdoor table. However, using an indoor table in a non-climate-controlled garage will likely cause it to have some issues at some point (surface/edges may warp). It is impossible to know how quickly the effects would be noticeable (we are talking about a number of years anyway). If you accept the risk of possibly having to replace the table in 5-10 years then an indoor table is probably your best bet. Who knows, maybe you wouldn't experience any problems and it is definitely nicer to play on quality indoor tables.

Any warping or other issues as a result of improper storage would not be covered by the table warranty (unlikely to occur during the warranty period anyway if you take care of it). A cover would still be a good idea.

JOOLA Tour 2500 looks to be back at a great price with shipping included. It is a two-piece folding table with 25mm tabletop. If you want a lighter table and don't need 25mm, then the Tour 1800 is a little easier to fold up/down and maneuver (18mm, lighter weight). Megaspin would be my recommendation due to the excellent prices and customer support.

I would NOT recommend 2500. It is too heavy. I had to call for help to assemble that. I would agree with 1800. And quite frankly, he might need to swap tables out due to humidity. If he is not too serious yet, even 1500 with 15mm top is fine. Maybe he wants to start off with 1500 and see if he enjoys it and then eventually swap it out for a 2500. But if you ever order 2500, you have to have friends/gardners/handyman ready. You do not want to tackle assembling that table yourself.

I ordered my 2500 from Megaspin. Quick delivery. No complaint.
