Rakza 7 vs Butterfly Rozena (BH)

I’m a low intermediate player still developing techniques. Which one of these would be more suited for backhand at my level or any other rubber recommendations.

Looking for something that has medium catapult, good spin but won’t go flying off the table.

Switching from a Europe Df which just flew off the table when I try a faster stroke. I do have a 3+2 hinoki blade which is fast and hinoki is supposedly bouncy so that may contribute to the problem. If you do think the bounciness and speed of hinoki is a problem what blades should I pair with Rozena or rakza 7

I don’t like the feeling of the Europe DF on my topspin strokes so a harder (medium hard) rubber would be better.

You need rubber that will teach you how to stroke the ball. If you want hard and spinny...

H3 Neo for about $20.

For more $$, BTY G09 will also make you do correct strokes

You supply your own power

Rozena is a nice backhand rubber.

H3 Neo is a bit too dead for my liking especially on a backhand rubber. How much catapult does the G09 have?

The main reason I don’t like the Europe DF it because of its softness. I much prefer a harder backhand with more spin. For me the Europe DF doesn’t offer much spin on my strokes.
Sure you know Howe to put spin on a shot. With a soft rubber it’s much much easier…

you stated that when you use XVE you shots go off the table, so it has too much tension for you

XVE has relatively low tension for ESN rubbers, maybe some of the Gewo rubbers that explicitly are marketed as low tension might be better, but not by alot

G09 is not springy. You have to use good active strokes.

Not to hijack this thread because I like Rozena more than R7, esp as a BH rubber. Instead of Rozena would you recommend H3 37°, H8, or H8-80?
Wouldn't rec any Chinese instead of Rozena.
C-1, G-1, V15 stiff or extra, Vega japan, maybe Korea sound better.

For OP Europe DF is so soft, fastarc C-1 is your best low-medium catapult, not too hard rubber. Lasts long too. Or maybe V15 limber, Rakza x soft for a bit more catapult.
Or on an alternative route you can look at Mantra Control or Mantra Sound, these are Japanese made rubbers.

a couple of days ago I played at the club using 2 different rackets. I CAN play with Rozenas but they do cost 3 times as much as H3s and Rxton rubbers.
I do not like soft bouncy rubbers much so my
BH H3 is commercial 39 / 2.1mm un-boosted and my FH a Rxton 3Pro.

Trying to make a BH flick against incoming ball with strong backspin is for me impossible with Rozenas but easy to do with the H3.

Rakza 7 vs Rozena = same same, not much noticeable difference. Get one that is more pocket friendly from your local vendor.
For me Rakes 7 feels quite much harder though. Rozena has very soft sponge. OP wants something harder, but then also mentions disliking too much catapult effect, so maybe it is more the boncieness and not so much the actual sponge hardness that is the issue. I would say go with Rozena, it is a bit more controllable.

Dawei 2008xp. Find the Japanese sponge version. The best rubber ever made for developing players, don't remember if it's still in production though.

If you can't find it get a palio AK47 red or loki rxton 1/3. They're slow and have decent grip, will force you to develop stroke and confidence in your power.
