Hello everyone,

I need your advice:
I have been playing a Nittaku Acoustic with Rozena in 2.1 mm on the forehand and 1.9 mm on the backhand for about 2-3 months.
I like the blade and in combination with the Rozenas the control. However, I am increasingly realising that I need a softer forehand rubber. I always hit the ball quite late for a forehand topspin and therefore don't get the right feel for the ball with the Rozena. So I need something softer in a similar speed category.
So far I have played Tenergy 05 and 05FX. I wanted to downgrade a bit because I had problems in the short-short game and a lot of balls were lost due to the Tenergys' susceptibility to spin. This works better with the Rozenas, but I'm missing a bit of spin in my game and I've become less dangerous.
I wouldn't want to go back to the Tenergys as the price is a pain in the neck. In terms of price, I'm aiming for the Fastarc series, which I can get (with a discount) for under €40. However, everything is quite non-catapult and less fast than the Rozena, which I don't like. What are your experiences? What can you recommend?
My strength is 1850TTR in Germany, I play in the upper park section of the BOL.

Thank you very much!

You are a stronger player than most of us here, it would be interesting to see what your issues are on video. I think the fast arc series are decent, they have hard topsheet but C1 has soft sponge. I don't know whether it will solve your problem if you don't like Rozena though as their catapult is not great.

I would say look at either Tenergy 80 or Tenergy 80 FX or Tibhar Genius or Andro Hexer. Try before you buy but those are rubbers with softer topsheet thar you can use on forehand if you have a certain style. They all have a bit of catapult.

A few in my club play with Xiom Vega Japan. With the right Technique the Spin gets very uncomfortable and hard to block. Escpecially when hit slow with high arc. Vega Korea or the Vega Hybrids might be an upgrade to the Japan aswell. (Haven't tried them yet)
One of them also plays it on Nittaku Acoustic and is very nice to play in my opinion.
Not sure about the short game though, since the catapult tends to be quite strong for soft rubbers, even on slow strokes.

You have exactly the same idea about Tenergy as I do. Unfortunately you always need to compromise. I did it with the catapult.
Less catapult = better slow game.

I suggest Tibhar hybrid MK, the regular one. I has the best spin capabilities (imo) of all ESN rubbers. It has very little catapult and a decent speed. It may be a little harder than what you want and is a little expensive, but less so than Tenergy.
The would be my choice for FH if didn’t already play Chinese rubbers.

Isn’t Hybrid MK way harder & slower than Rozena? I’ve seen people make comparisons to G1 saying it’s spinier , slower, and has better control. I know there’s a soft version of Hybrid MK, but haven’t seen anyone mention it’s speed.

A little bit, but not much, but way better spin. I think its a perfect FH rubber.

I think the Hybrid MK is way to hard for my style. Vego Europe sounds promising.
Vega Europe is really really soft and not that spinny, but then again I don't have high regards for Rozena either.
Vega Europe is more like a beginners rubber.

Ok, what about a rubber with 45 degree hardness and a more flexible top sheet?
Rakza 7, but its a "do it all" rubber with catapult and not super spinny, but more so than Rozena imo.

I have Acoustic + MK/Rozena

MK plays fine on FH, I would not compare "hardness" to Rozena, they are 2 different types of rubbers. MK doesn't feel harder than Rozena because MK holds the ball on the rubber longer so short game and upper spin potential are better.

Rozena shoots the ball off the rubber faster. It just depends on what you like.

How does the MK feel on Acoustic? It’s only been a couple of days, but I feel like I’ve found my match with G1. Although it being a fast rubber it feels a lot better than the Rakza 7 I had on there previously.

I have Rozena on a Korbel and feel like that would be more bouncy than I’d like on an Acoustic, but less so than R7.

G1 feels a lot more stable while still having more speed if you apply more. Does the MK feel dead or too slow, and does it mute the feeling of the blade at all?
