Hello all:) I’ve bought a new blade OVTCHAROV INNERFORCE ALC and I would like to ask you which rubbers pair would be the best for offensive style play ? I was thinking of pairing it with D09C FH / D5 BH or T05 FH / T05FX BH or Galyzers with 09C on bh. Do you have any recommendation or maybe someone is using similar setup and can say something ? Thank you in advance, cheers.

Hi!

All the rubbers you have listed works on the blade you mention. It is difficult to give advice to you when we do not know why you want to change from your current setup, that based on your profile, seems to be a Stratus Powerwood + MXP/Glayzer09c combo. You have not stated your current "skill level" either.

Overall though, on this forum you will usually get the advice not to change too much at the same time. Some of your pairings are definitely a case of changing a lot. Your new blade is faster than your current blade, and I would say especially moving from a slower blade and G09c on backhand to Ovtcharow ALC + Dignics05 on backhand is a major move. With this principle in mind I guess you could stick with Glayzer09c on backhand and chose either of the FH choices you have listed. It all depends on if you prefer softer sponge or tacky surface.

Best of luck!

Couple days ago I borrowed two ovtcharovs to compare. One had D09C+D05 the other one T19+Bluestorm Z3. I liked the second one a lot more because it had better balance (not head heavy at all like the one with dignics) and more controllable to me, I overshot a lot less with tenergy and bluestorm z3

Hello, thanks for they replies. I think I’m currently +med/-high considering my skills, but ofc still practicing 3x times and week including one hour training with coach on balls. I would like also to have the blade not super heavy so this is also the problem for me when I consider d09c and d05 because they are quite heavy as I read. Currently my blade is 185g, I would say it is ok, but if it would be a little lighter I think also could be better. Also an option is T05fx on both sides to have it not super heavy and good control with blocks, what do you think guys? Regards

Why not keep using the rubbers your are using now on your new blade? Is there something with them you are not happy about?

That is true and understandable. You could also say it´s mandatory when testing components - how does a blade behave with my rubbers, or how do different rubbers behave on my blade. Anything else is a jump into very cold water: if it works, great - if it doesn´t, what is to blame?

So when switching to a new blade, taking the rubbers off the old one would be a good idea to start with, if they fit the new one (Ovtcharov is oversize). If not, getting them again might make sense, unless you´re unhappy with the MX-P (you consider g09c for the new blade so you must be ok with that).

Thanks. Since January I’ve used MX-P on FH and pink Tibhar Quantum X Pro. The FH rubber was ok for me, but with BH one I had many issues with changing the rotation from cut balls and proper block (while with MXP on fn there was no issues). The topspin to topspin I could finish fast, so I stick it with until my friend bought d09c and glayzer 09c and gave me the 2nd to to test. I noticed that now 80-90% of cut balls were easy to lift and change the rotation and start fast game, however in the same time sometimes I couldn’t feel how much power I should use with glayzer, because it is needed much more than with quantum X pro. I’m looking for some balans where rubbers can be a little sticky, but in the same time have good control in blocks like I consider with glazer 09c is very easy to block, and would be nice if it has some power so I can play also more far from the table. Regards

Maybe Tibhar Hybrid MK would fit your requirements on BH rubber. I have not tried it myself, but I have heard that lots of people like it. It is supposed to be a bit faster than G09c but still a hybrid with the benefits that comes with that category.
