RUSHING the points that leads to FAILURE

How can I stop this? I am having this attitude. Always want to kill the ball with one blow on 3rd ball or 2nd ball and because of excessive swings, my eyes was not able to follow the ball and when opponent blocks it, I am drinking my poison.

I am just relying on my skills and power but not thinking my tactics and strategies.

Maybe, I am rushing to finish points because I am afraid to rally too long. I am not confident.

And also, there are times that my opponent keeps on smashing or killing the ball, I am eager to take revenge and leads me to ruin my games 'cause I just tilted, triggered or shaken.

Just yesterday, I have decided to relax, and don't use too much power and just have placement and tactics, I stay relax and calm and think on how to expose the weakness of opponent, I won matches.

Maybe, you can share strategies on trainings on how to be tactical on games and not just rely on skills. Or how can I practice of using my head more in games? I want to really implement it right away.

Thank you

The thing is you probably train with a very fast stroke aswell?
Usually its good but you need different gears when attacking a ball. So when training tell yourself you will be looping with 60% power then 80% then 100% then 60% again and so on. Try and see how it feels when you loop slower. Try to go for placement on those shots.

In the match you will feel more comfortable knowing you have different gears on how hard you can attack the ball.

Right now I have the opposite problem that I go for almost the safest shot which tends to be slow. So I work on looping 100% lately so I can use it in my games when I am in the right position and dont default to 60% power.

If you have anyone willing, try being a match coach for other players.

Hear yourself tell them stuff like 'Wait for the ball ' 'Relax' 'Put more spin' , and different placements they should use.

Also hear how seldom you tell them stuff like 'You should hit it harder!' 'Faster! Finish the point' or 'Use less spin, play flat.'

Then when you play, tell yourself the same stuff you would tell your players when you are the bench coach.

Whoah, these is amazing. Yeah, I just realize it. Whenever I coach my teammates, I seldom tell them faster, finish the point, use less spin. Play flat. Yet, in me, it seems like I am playing table tennis like a headless chicken running. Haha

Yes. I always use full power in my strokes on practice. This is a great suggestion too that on practice, I will not only have a 100% shot all the time. I will try to practice more gears in my strokes. Thank you

Read 3 reviews
against weaker players, the ball might not come back.
against stronger players, the ball will always come back.

I am guessing, you only can keep the ball on the table for 5 to 10 shots, and not 30 to 50 shots.

your problem is only solving in training and likely need to work on technical flaws around technique and footwork.

Actually not 5 to 10. Haha. Maybe, 1 to 4.
I will try my best

Just for the match scenario when you hit your 2nd or 3rd ball attack make it a habbit to "never" hit back at the position where the ball is coming from. If the ball comes diagonally (Cross table) play your shot down the line. If the ball comes down the line, play it cross. This way if your ball lands, the opponent needs to move first and can not easily block you out without moving.
